Looks fairly straightforward.
Technically opening 2 accounts. A debit & a brokerage account for them to invest your savings.
*edit: as pointed out below by SirMixPix, both accounts are technically brokerage accounts which changes the protections/guarantees a bit.
Anyone seeing fees? I'm not.
looks like even better than OP claimed:
+$5 just for signing up (YMMV, this happened during sign up process for me. it is already showing up in the app under Activity for me)
+$100 if you fund $50 per promo
+$30 (10% match bonus on up to $300 deposit to SAVE account)
so if you park $300 in this for a while you'll get $135 in bonuses (I wasn't sure re timing and didn't dig into the details, others have made educated guesses in comments below)
Updates:
Sounds like they check settled funds at the end of the month and you get the bonus early in the next month.
the 10% is an intro bonus rate, looks like 5% for future years.
edit 2:
185TU and not frontpage?
is it the lack of kickback money for SD since it's via app signups and not a direct affiliate link or what?
wild the promoted garbage that gets pumped to the frontpage with very little engagement while this doesn't. apparently the Lisen phone holder & ESR plastic phone cases are more noteworthy lol
edit 3:
I got my full bonus
8/18 signed up. immediately got $5 bonus
8/21 ACH transfer posted ($300)
8/30 $100 bonus posted
9/01 $30 match bonus posted
Keep in mind, both the accounts are brokerage funds and, while uncommon for low risk mutual funds of these types to lose money, they have and can (in rare instances). They are not fdic protected and do carry more risk, albeit slight, than a 'standard' back account covered under FDIC insurance.
These brokerage accounts are instead SIPC covered, which while similar to FDIC insurance, there are some significant differences.
A good article explaining what is covered and what isn't here: https://www.firstrepublic.com/ins...ifferences
Interesting Quote from above article:
"It's worth noting that SIPC insurance does not cover the value of your stocks, bonds or other investments. Rather, the SIPC replaces your missing stocks and other securities when possible."
I am Not knocking this deal or the opening of accounts to get the deal. Just some fyi that I found while exploring the fine print that I found interesting.
Got the $5. Currently a Fidelity credit card + brokerage customer as well.
I attached a picture of where you see the $5 bonus.

I deposited on 8/21, and the representative in the app said that I qualified for the $100, but it could take up to 60 calendar days to receive the bonus. He did not manually add it for me.
Also deposited 8/21. Rep in app said they don't have authority to look into this and directed me to secure message center in fidelity's main website. Did that, 5 days later I get a response saying "I sent a request for our back office to take a look and credit the account.
What a joke. No consistency, no process, and every step of communication takes days.

I was given the same information. Rep gave me a number to call and to ask about the missing bonus. Terms and condition were meet and still Rep had no idea why I didn't get the 100 bonus.

Short *possible* reason why some not have received the $100: Make sure your deposit was from a non-fidelity account.
I also called...took about 45 minutes (talking, put on hold, talking, put on hold, transferred, etc.) and still no bonus. I made a $300 deposit from another Fidelity account on 8/21 and as of today no $100 bonus (did get $30 match). The first rep advised I didn't get it because I made an additional $50 deposit on 9/5 (this was from a different non-fidelity account), so the count down timer reset. I said that doesn't make sense since if you use the account regularly and make deposits, you the timer will keep getting extended. Went back and forth and she transferred me to another rep/department. According to this 2nd rep, I meet the terms so will get the bonus until 21 September.
We went through the full terms of the offer again and this rep keyed in on the part about the deposit must be from a non-fidelity account. Apparently my initial $300 deposit on 8/21 doesn't count, but the additional $50 I made on 9/5 does count, so the $100 will be given based off when that was deposited.

Initial 301 deposit was made from Ally, and it was pulled from Fidelity.

They really don't know why it's not giving the bonus to some and just looking for reasons to get people off the phone. The terms and conditions state "total external deposits"...but external is not defined. It could be external to Bloom, external to Fidelity, external to the U.S.
Deposited $300+ about 3 weeks ago, received $5 and $30. No $100 bonus. So I asked today in the chat on the web, the agent said there is no bonus associated with my Bloom accounts, and asked me to call some support number. Did not call yet.

Terms very specifically stated that deposit must be from a non-fidelity account... This is on you
It looks like 100% of people have gotten the $5 signup bonus quickly and the 10% match.
Why would they make that automatic for everyone but not the $100 bonus? Is it because some banks are not 100% trusted by Fidelity? So they have to do extra checks to make sure the deposit is legit?
