I bought these last year on black friday sales for 250. My decently big living room vibrates like a mini earthquake whenever the hbo max start logo comes up. I also never had to go beyond 30 volume for most content and it's crisp even at higher volumes.

Samsung sells all different qualities of soundbars. Unless you bought this exact model, your $150 setup isn't necessarily comparable.

It's worth mentioning the samsung smart things app is excellent. It allows you to customize everything including a graphic equalizer. And it functions perfectly.

I guess the upfiring speakers are ineffective if you have a vaulted ceiling?

That app is not working for me. It worked once, and then I cannot add the sound bar to it.

I wouldn't say ineffective you still will have a sense of height and better quality in general since atmos or dtsx audio is significant better than anything else. You can also control the channel levels individually.

Lastly. I would recommend these stands for the rears. The rears are pretty big. Bigger than you'll expect. These will also fit the cables through the stand.

Another speaker stand option is Perlesmith Universal Speaker Stands which are half the price at $40.

Edit: Found put these are actually too wide to clamp from the sides. They will only keep the speakers secure clamping front to back.
