Was a huge fan of the original, cant imagine how many hours I have on it. Played this for a bit but was so disenchanted with the monetization and stuff I diddnt really give it a shot. Worth trying it out? I hear bad things about it but not sure if thats just frustrated gamers like myself.

not worth your time. The dev team is not up to the task to keep game going well. Most of the Senior devs have left and there are new people changing everything they can and failing at it all since they have no experience.

the original was better. It died pretty quickly due to the lack of updates but the first game was a lot more balanced and had more maps.

I've played both 1/2 and still enjoy it. Not sure what's with all the hate. Is it because the characters aren't as strong, the whole buy to win scheme, lack of content?

They removed half the maps, removed a player slot and gave us what in return? Nothing that was promised and nothing that couldn't have been added in the original game. I paid and played the original on the promise that all new content would be free then they decide to go to f2p and tell us not to worry that we are getting PVE content which they couldn't deliver and knew they couldn't deliver 3 years ago. Now we get a terrible campaign that needs to be purchased.

I feel bad for anyone who bought into their ow2 scheme full of empty promises

Ahh ok it's making more sense with all the details. I just heard it was free to play and left it at that. I recently purchased, with Xbox points, a $10 season pass and the new character is pretty sweet. I'm still having fun with it.
