I own this, a Roku Ultra, and an Apple TV 4K+. If you don't need IPTV, get the Roku Ultra. If you do, get the Apple TV 4K+. The Google TV's automatic setup doesn't work, performance is barely adequate for the job, and the OOTB UI is a giant ad. You can get rid of the ad by installing a custom launcher, but that causes issues with notifications that are impossible to clear without entering them.

you can also just set it to "app only mode" and then all the clutter goes away. did that on mine and it's been fantastic.

Isn't this pretty much the cheapest Matter hub you can get? I got a house full of Onn streamers but one of these would get me into that game I guess.

I've had this and also have the Onn 4k Pro. There's nothing that the Google does better than the Onn at a cheaper cost. Even the smart home controls are the exact same. There's maybe a second or 2 delay on the Onn with smart home controls, but that's it.. also you still need to physically use the remote and go to the smart home function to do this. It's easier to just speak hey Google turn of all lights than actually use the remote to navigate this. Both Onn and Google have hey Google assuming yo have the pro / plus Onn

I still don't see the value proposition of buying this over the Onn 4K devices from Walmart. Are there really any major benefit of paying almost twice the price just to get Google's own device? I have the Onn Pro and it works great.

My Onn 4K Plus shuts off randomly and the Bluetooth range is terrible. I replaced it with an Onn 4K Pro which has been rock solid.

Mine basically runs like 18 hours a day and has been rock solid for almost a year now. Switches between speaker and headphone seamlessly. Remote finder is god send.
