I personally think the Onn devices are just as good and not nearly as expensive. But that's me.

This has its advantages over those, but it was a much harder bullet to bite when it was $100. This is the closest you can get to owning an Nvidia shield and getting to enjoy the software/codec updates.

Walmart has matched the price:

They're blocking sideloading of apps by unverified users.

This box is pretty worthless now

I use it with my LG oled, but never gave my TV apps a chance. I was using the Verizon 4k streamer, which has lower ram/storage and replaced it with this because the Verizon streamer would crash when an app had too many resolution or hdr transitions between ads and whatnot.

It got really bad so I replaced the Verizon one for this and 90% of the problems went away. The HBO app still occasionally crashes playing the timed ads, but I'd say that's the apps fault, not the streamer. And Hulu on disney+ skips the ad entirely, but you lose/skip about 10 seconds of the show or movie you're watching, and it's hard to rewind back without causing the skip again.
