will this work as well as your commercial grooming setup?
It depends on the dog. I have doodles so absolutely not even close to being adequate. If you had something like a golden, a home user may be happy with its performance. I haven't personally used a cheap one
I didn't buy this one but another one that came up on Amazon as alternate for $76. Can't believe I didn't know about this. I have golden doodle that knots easily. If I a not very careful, groomers won't touch it unless they can remove it all. With this tool, it is a snap cutting its hair. I got done in half the time and no time required for cleaning the floor. Thanks SD.
My dog hates clippers and vacuums. She is surprisingly tolerant of this thing. The vacuum is quiet with several power settings, and the clippers are quiet as well.
The vacuum pulls the fur into the blades, so I don't have to make as many passes to get an even cut. It makes grooming faster and less messy so at least my dog is nervous for a shorter amount of time.
Same thing with me. Have a similar one and my highly anxious dog is ok with it. The suction has three speeds and the lowest and middle are surprisingly quiet.
Why not groom the dog outside? I could not imagine grooming my Akita/husky/German indoors.
Not everyone has outdoor space. I live in a high rise and would have to go to a park to groom if I didn't do it inside. Most I can get away with is brushing in front of the apartment building next door (they have a nice bench and also don't fine me for brushing out front).
