It's basically Intel's former SSD business now under SK Hynix, who is the world's 2nd largest memory chip maker. So it's a legit brand, just new name.

If you dont need Pcie4 (e.g. PS5 needs it) get the Intel 670p. same but with DRAM so better performance. Same price on Amazon,

I'm trying to decide between the two myself since they are the same price but the P41 does seem to do pretty well without DRAM and is faster than the 670p in many scenarios. Not sure which would serve me better as a primary OS drive

Here's the issue with drives without DRAM. They use pSLC as cache. e.g. they use free space on the NVMe as pseudocache, about 1/4 of the free space. But when the NVMe starts filling up, there is less and less pcache available and the performance drops significantly. Whereas DRAM is always there. So if you are willing and able to buy a larger drive so you can leave a bunch empty for the pSLC. Otherwise get the one with the DRAM for OS drive

One more thing. OS use a lot of random, not sequential transfers. So that number is more important.

I was looking at cheap NVME drives and found the drive above but it was 39.99 last night. I ended buying this which is a little cheaper, slightly faster, but does not require prime it seems.
