This is interesting. I'll check what the theatres looks like Sunday. But if rather pay 7 bucks on Tuesday to not be in a crowded theatre potentially full of people that use their phones, talk, bring babies, etc.

This is a best way to meet all slick dealers once a year at the movie theatres.

agree, Grand turismo was much better than oppenheimer imo
There was no reason for Grand Turismo to be as long as it was. It was definitely corny/cringe in several moments. Watching it in 4DX was fun. It was like driving the car. They should have removed the whole love story aspect of the film. I think they just wanted to get across that: "this video game nerd has a love life, he's not a loser". It added no impact to the film. Just burned minutes away. David Harbour did a fantastic job though. He's great in the TV show Stranger Things too.

There's absolutely nothing worth watching in the theaters right now
The new Super Mario Bros movie was totally worth it. I really enjoyed that. If you grew up playing Mario its a blast. So many easter eggs. Using Chris Pratt as the voice actor of Mario was weird for sure, but the movie did a good job making a joke about it (the TV commercial scene).

Saw Mario 4DX 3D for $4. 4dx was an amazing experience! Will definitely see movies in that format again
It was cool. First time going to see a 4DX film. To me they move the seats violently WAYYY too much. Whoever is programming the seat movements is an absolute madman. lol. They could finesse the movements and it would be much more enjoyable. Also I don't know if your theater had this, but at several points of the movie something was spraying into the air that gave the air around you a really weird musty smell. What the heck was that? Like this weird soap/chemical/musty smell.

I thought Gran Turismo was going to be better using 4DX, but Mario actually used more elements (more water mist, air blowing, smoke, bubbles, etc). Gran Turismo would throw you down violently at times with a car racing on a race track. Completely unnecessary. Again, the guy programming the seat movements must hate people. laugh out loud

At my theater they had 4DX trailers before Gran Turismo started. One was the new Marvel film: "The Marvels". The entire trailer was the most violent seat shaking. It was absolute madness for a minute straight. When the trailer ended people where making audibles noises like: "wtf was that!". LMAO

Actors are working class?

Yep. The amount of people working in filmmaking is pretty large, and the tiers of income are pretty stratified.

On a Sunday? Highly unlikely. Last year it was a Saturday and a buck cheaper which is completely different.
Highly unlikely? And yet somehow just as bad as I suggested it would be:

My theater wasn't that crowded. I guess you live in a high density area.

Went to the 11 am IMAX screening for Oppenheimer. Decided to cheap out and just buy the ticket at the theater and not pay ridiculous "convenience fee", ended up getting a great seat anyway.

Fantastic movie, but I'd never pay the $20+ normally for Imax ticket.
the AMC a-list program is great for IMAX. $25 a month assuming you have amc near you.

Somewhere in this or other thread person was chastised for frowning on in theatre patronage.
I think I will pass.
Enjoy 'National Cinema Day' it probably will not return. EEK!

"Sunday at the East Bay Mall in Emeryville, a city wedged between Oakland and Berkeley. There, the trouble started around 4:30 pm with a pack of 50 teens creating an unspecified disturbance at one of the businesses at the mall. Over the next two hours, some 250 more teenagers amassed near the AMC theater. ABC7 says they were drawn lured by National Cinema Day, a promotion that saw theater chains offering $4 tickets -- probably for the last time ever. One shopper said people were "pepper-spraying each other" and "throwing chairs," prompting her group to make a roundabout escape through a parking garage.
🚨 Emeryville Police: multiple fights broke out involving 300 juveniles near AMC Theater at Bay Street mall around 5 pm.

Teenager fires a gun after hundreds of teens swarmed Bay Street shopping center in Emeryville, California today 🚨
A woman was also stabbed in the neck while multiple fights broke out........"

You lost me at Oakland and Berkeley. Lawless cities run by inept politicians. You get what you get.
