This is, hands down, the best TV Streaming box on the market. If you hate Apple and their products, make this your one exception. It just works so much better then almost every other streaming box/stick/interface out there.

What the Costco online support wrote in regards to backorders on the Apple TV 4k. For reference my original eta was August 25th.

I was also able to price match on Target online via chat. I was offered discounts in $10 increments since it was out of stock but I kept mentioning that I could buy it in store at Costco and they eventually price matched so YMMV.

I just use Google TV built into the telly, works fast enough. Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to get this but absolutely can't live without Kodi. Just have no idea why it hasn't been made available on the TVos store, it's on Google Play and available for every other platform.

I tried Kodi and every TV show and movie required some weird subscription thing. Is there a way to watch things without that?

Not sure what you're seeing but Kodi itself is absolutely free and works perfectly on every platform I've tried it on. The only issue (which I'm guessing will be resolved soon) is that even the latest build 21 doesn't play DolbyVision videos on my new U7K TV. Plays fine on my U8H so I'm sure it's just a codec thing. It plays every single other format and resolution with zero issues, including Atmos audio. I took a quick look at Infuse just then, installed on my phone, it picked up my Jellyfin home server perfectly and listed all the media but I tried a couple of files and it immediate prompts to pay for pro access.

Does anyone know if there is any media center that is free and file/folder based for AppleTV, ie similar to Kodi? Also, I just read this old Reddit post and I'm not holding out much hope. https://www.reddit.com/r/appletv/..._vlc_that/
