Cheapest I've seen this ME0800 package:
https://www.amazon.com/EGO-Power-...B0868D4FMB

I also applied
https://slickdeals.net/f/16821161-select-amazon-accounts-add-discover-card-as-a-payment-method-get-10-off-10-01

So I paid $142.99 total.

The next closest deal I could find was the now-expired.
https://slickdeals.net/f/16862600-ego-power-56v-15-string-trimmer-8-edger-power-head-kit-179-99-woot
which did include the battery & charger.

I have had an Ego edger for ~~4 years. If you get one, never try to go backward with the blade spinning. There is a rubber guard that can physically touch the spinning blade, and the guard will finish a distant second in that confrontation. I ruined one rubber guard when I first used the edger! Ego sent me a new one for free, once I called them.

Any generic edger blade will work that is ~ 8" X 2" X~~1/8" with a 1" hole in the blade. I had already bought 10 blades ~10 years ago that cost $1.50 each on ebay and they work perfectly, I use a bent nail to replace the cotter pin, and have had no trouble with that.
Isn't this a way better deal? Multi head tool itself, edger, and a free pole saw or string trimmer for $179: https://www.acmetools.com/ego-pow...08269.html
You could use large scissors to cut grass too.

I got the woot deal but this still is good with the battery.

Edger works very well I think. Haven't had one for a while and forgot how much faster/better it is than using a string trimmer to do it.

Excellent deal for anyone considering buying the edger attachment, which is currently going for $139 by itself, at best. A string trimmer is more versatile, to be sure, but in terms of appearance, nothing matches a dedicated edger. Makes any weekend gardener look like a pro. The single wheel design might take a little getting used to on the first trim if you've used a multi wheel design previously. It's easily adjustable to a 3" depth, and replacement blades, including third party, are readily available.

They changed the design. It now has a blade slot cut into the rubber flap for this exact reason.
