I have had an Ego edger for ~~4 years. If you get one, never try to go backward with the blade spinning. There is a rubber guard that can physically touch the spinning blade, and the guard will finish a distant second in that confrontation. I ruined one rubber guard when I first used the edger! Ego sent me a new one for free, once I called them.

Any generic edger blade will work that is ~ 8" X 2" X~~1/8" with a 1" hole in the blade. I had already bought 10 blades ~10 years ago that cost $1.50 each on ebay and they work perfectly, I use a bent nail to replace the cotter pin, and have had no trouble with that.

Has anyone used this for edging landscaping beds? I know they're mainly designed to work against concrete but can it be used on a bare edge too?

This still seems very excessively overpriced for an attachment. Lowe's had a few sales last year where you could get items like this for $100.

It's not just the attachment (EA0800). It's the attachment AND the multi-head.

I love the EGO Edger. Here in the South, the Bermuda grass sends above-ground runners out horizontally and you have to trim them back every time you mow, or maybe 30x a year. The EGO runs fantastic, and it's so much less noise and no smell, fumes, smoke or gas to worry about. I've trimmed down maybe 2.5 inches with mine.

Yes, I use it to maintain the edge / redefine the edge of my beds. Cuts about 3" deep on deepest setting when works well enough for me so that the mulch can fall against the dirt - I usually will redefine the edge a couple times per year and otherwise use string trimmer to keep the stray grass from encroaching.

I cannot vouch for how good the price is on this edger ... I can only vouch for how good this tool is. Of all my Ageo lawn tools, this is the best. BTW, The string trimmer is THE WORST.
