Given that the 800 series was on sale for maybe $100 more, this "deal" is lukewarm at best. When I looked at Bosch dishwasher I got the impression that the 500 series is rather expensive considering how little you get. Lack of CrystalDry would be a deal breaker for me. I ended up buying an 800 series (for full price) a year ago, well worth the slightly higher price tag.

Would have loved to get the 800 via HD if it was available unfortunately it is not. Bought the 500 and used the coupon mentioned in the 800 series thread. Not a bad deal at all.

Yes, you should grab that. I would check with them if they can discount it further.

Is CrystalDry that much worth it? I bought the 500 series a few months back and been using it on normal with auto air dry. All my dishes, plastics included have been coming out bone dry.

I have never owned a 500 series, I just based my decision off of my own personal assumptions. I just wanted one that had heating elements to dry and potentially sanitize dishes. Given the small difference in price I just figured that I might as well go with the 800, which also is a tad more quiet. To me it feels like that was money well spent. But if you're happy with the 500, that's great. It still feels like the 500 should cost less.

have the 500 series and its been great, especially the auto airing - if you use rinse aid, your dishes will come out dry

For those who owns Bosch 500 or 800, what's the typical time for a full wash cycle? Hate to wait hours for the dish to finish washing, which seems taking a toll on both water and electric consumption.

Thanks! needed to replace mine so I pulled the trigger. They had 20% off on clearance which brought it down to $519.

if you select auto with air dry, its about 3:15 hours. With out the air dry its around 2:25 hours. My water bill has actually gone down which is expected.

Check the website and manuals for each model. I know its in there, was just looking at it the other day. It's not much different than competitor brands.

LOL. It's not a deal.

I just ordered Bosch 500 from airportappliance for $570+tax (no installation because I am DIY). No delivery fee for me because they are nearby.
