You can't be serious. Just one glance at the gauge thickness of the frame and legs, along with the bag of 1/4 x 20 fasteners, while it was still unassembled in the box should have been enough to tell you this is nowhere near what you'd need as an anvil base.
If you've had the earlier models this is just a wimpy substitute. When it went on sale for $10 it was worth it,
$15 is meh.
This thing is confusing to put together the instructions are not clear. I bolted a piece of plywood to it though and it makes a decent table saw stand for the price

Last time it was $11.95. I got 4. Built just 1. Handles are missing but still usable. Good working surface with some capability. Nothing special. $15 is fair deal if you need now.

Way too rickety to be useful in my blacksmithing shop!
After putting my anvil on it, I didn't even get one horseshoe done before the whole thing collapsed!

Thank you all for your comments. I will wait for the next $10 sale to come around. It's nice to have but I don't need it right away.

Are these better, worse, or the same as the ones on clearance for $24 at Harbor Freight? I got 2 of these last week:

I bought this at the same price in June (via slickdeals) and just finished putting it together. I can say it was not a fun assembly. Although it should be straight-forward:
- The instructions are not as clear as they should be
- One of the leg assemblies I received was missing screw holes. I contacted B&D - they sent out a new leg, but only sent out a single leg even though it's an attached piece in the box, so I would have had to disassemble the leg piece I had and reassemble it. I drilled my own holes instead.
- There's a pin that should attach the handle to the bench. I can't get either of the pins to go in fully. As it's plastic I don't want to hammer too hard, but even using a vice I wasn't able to push it in.

TL;DR - if you need a cheap workbench and are willing to live with poor quality you'll probably like this.

Some people just expect too much from a cheap item. You get what you paid for…..

Pulled the trigger at $10, still haven't had a chance to build. Installation can be a bit intimidating. Sorry I can't chime in on quality.

That pin was the bane of my existence. The only thing that worked to get it in was using tongue and groove pliers but even then only 90% of the way. The instructions are awful but luckily there's YouTube.

I recently bought the Harbor Freight one. I like that it has holes and slots in the bottom rails on each side for tools (from picture for B&D don't see similar slots). I don't know for sure which is better but I did find this comment on the reviews for the Harbor Freight version:

"When compared to the Black & Decker workbench, this little bench is much more sturdy and better quality. I have used it for about two weeks now and it has held pieces of wood that weigh almost 150 lbs."
