It's all made by Warren Distribution. They make Kirkland, Super Tech, Amazon, and many other private label brands. It's good stuff.

Why would you ever need to do an emergency oil change?

jacking up the car and put them on jack stands, lol, that right there will be a challenge for a lot of newbies
step 1.
Jack stand - singular. I only need to jack it up enough to be able to reach under and open the drain pan Fumoto valve. The jack stand is for safety only. I doubt it's even necessary, since the tire stays on.

I've been using 0W20 in our Hondas (2018 Pilot and 2020 Odyssey) for a few oil changes now. Can't say I notice a difference (previously an M1 user) but I will say that the amount of oil in these jugs is PERFECT for both of my vehicles, as in I know I can dump it all in and will be right in the middle of the hashed area on the dipstick.

At ~ $3.20/qt it can't be beat - even the M1 rebate game is slightly more $$ and you have to jump through all the hoops, not to mention there are redemption limits.

FWIW this and many of the store brand oils (Walmart, Amazon, etc) are all made by Warren Distribution.

Don't forget to recycle your used oil! I just pour it in the ground, in the same spot at each oil change. Makes it easy for the oil drillers to find it in the future. Hey, it came out of the ground originally, right? Smilie

Funny…

I take mine to the dump for free. Walmart (and pretty much anyone else selling oil) will take it for free.

How do you like the Odyssey? huge fan of minivans because of their utility but deciding between Pacifica, Odyssey, and sienna. Leaning towards odyssey because I've had great experiences with Honda vehicles but always been a fan of Toyota as well

from what I've researched, there are only a few engine oil manufacturers so most generic brands you see from big box stores or online retailers such as Amazon, Costco, and Walmart are coming from the same manufacturer. Kirkland and Amazon have great engine oil. It's literally the same stuff as the brand name ones.

If this was meant as sarcasm, it was brilliant! If you are being serious, then it's TMI for most of us. 😊. I just change the oil regularly in all my vehicles and put in the correct weight and make sure to change the filter each time (I occasionally cut them open to inspect them as well). Three of my vehicles have 200+ k miles and my 30 year old pickup has 130k so I assume all is well. They all run great so I'm planning on 400k at least for all but the pickup. I feel that if I get 400k then I've done well.

Many people say "oil is cheap insurance", which is right, and you generally can't change oil too often (except that you're more bound to damage something by doing so, e.g. overtorquing the oil plug or something like that). That said, the last car I had to 200k ran 0W40 I changed every 10k with OE filter and M1 oil. And, that was HALF the manufacturer's (OBDC) interval - I just couldn't stomach 20k so I did 10k. When I sold the car it had the original clutch, transmission (stick, I changed the fluid in the "lifetime" transmission twice and it made it drive like a new car each time), and minimal overall maintenance, couple coil packs, water pump, valve cover gasket, etc.

Our second. We had a 2018 that some crackhead (literally a crackhead) sideswiped us that I traded in when it was repaired for a 2020. It's been a fine car, only have it because there's a difference between being able to seat 8 and actually seating 8; my Pilot can seat 8 but the rear seat isn't all that easy to get to and I wouldn't recommend it if you have to tow that many people all the time. Plus, even then the Odyssey has more cargo room seating 8 than the Pilot does with the rear seat up. We have 4 kids so it's just a fact of life.

I forget really what made us choose the Odyssey over the Sienna (that was back in 2019). Honda only refreshes models every 5 years so all of our aftermarket stuff we bought for the 2018 Odyssey transferred to the 2020 (e.g. Weathertech mats, other custom fit stuff) - it was literally the same car. That said, we'd probably choose the Odyssey again. IIRC the sliding second row seats was a Honda-only thing, and that was nice at the time because our youngest 2 are twins and we had to deal with carseats (Judging by the Toyota site, it appears that the Sienna's second row only moves forward and backward, not side to side; that's great for access to the last row of seats so you don't have to walk between the middle row seats. In fact, in the 5 years we've owned a version of the Odyssey we've only ever used that middle seat in the second row once; other than that the extra seat sits on my garage shelf). The Odyssey had a better feel and look to it, but that's mostly personal impression.

Misc things too - as current customers we get a discount on future Hondas (whopping $500); Honda seems to be simplifying its oil and filters - both the Odyssey and the Pilot take the same oil and filter, easier for me to keep spares on the shelf.
