I'd say this is a solid deal if it works properly and holds up. And if you don't have these specs already

No experience, but I was reading the comments on the i9 PC listing and that person described a nightmare. PC wouldn't boot without reinstall, zero cable management, flimsy case and insufficient cooling which meant the i9 throttled at like 60% utilization. I'm not that eager to buy a PC anyway so it was enough to deter me.

When I try to research power draw of this setup intel says for the processor TDP 125 W
Configurable TDP-down Base Frequency 3.10 GHz
Configurable TDP-down 95 W

Is this correct, you can't get it to throttle down more than this?

That's not even counting the draw of the video card...

I run on solar, currently using geforce now to game on a low power laptop, I guess a desktop is not in the cards for me?

LHR card I assume…

That being said I could really use another gaming rig for one of my OLED TV's.

Affirm gives me this sexy 12 month finance option. Sigh.

How to hide this from wife?

woot has had some really good deals in the last month or two on gaming pcs.

A little over a month ago, I ordered from woot a refurbished msi i7-12700k/16gbDDR5-4800mhz/1tbSSD/3080ti12GB for $1100 and it looked brand new, still had the clear plastic film on the case and the boxes for the keyboard and mouse had seals on them.

I ended up returning it (didn't actually use it) because after I received it, woot had for sale a refurb i7/32gb/3070/1tbSSD for $600 and so I ordered that. It has worked great so far, no issues.

The graphics card alone is worth the price. So tempted to pull the trigger... the 90 day refurb warranty is what scares me.
No one is spending $850 on a 3080 10
