This is a great deal if you are not planning to build. 3080 10G is a exactly right for 1440 ultra gaming with RT. that's exactly how much vram you need. the processor is more than adequate for the task. the ram is good. and the price is of course very right.

to beat the specs on this you would need to spend at least $1500.

Review for this item from the microcenter website:

Willzuh · 4 months ago DO NOT BUY.
This thing has been nothing but a $2,300 paper weight. Nothing but problems. I spent that much money expecting a good machine but so far I have put about $600 into fixing it's various issues. The first problem is the AIO/CPU cooler. It is no where near adequate to properly cool the CPU. The CPU temperature would hit 100c just performing simple tasks or playing lightweight games like Minecraft. The CPU would begin to throttle and performance would suffer. I opened it up and applied new thermal paste to see if that would fix the issue. It did not, but I already expected the AIO was the problem given the weird cackling sounds it would sometimes make. So I ended up having to buy a Noctua air cooler and replaced the AIO with that. This involved taking most of the PC apart to get the motherboard out and put in the new mounting bracket for the air cooler. Completely defeated the purpose of buying a prebuilt machine. Anyways, that solved the CPU issue, although the GPU still runs pretty warm on games like GTA due to the horrible air flow this case provides. I don't play games like that very often so I could live with that. A few months go by and eventually my OS corrupted for no reason. Had to do a clean installation of windows and that fixed the issue for a few weeks before it corrupted again. The SSD somehow got messed up. I also had suspicions the motherboard was causing some of the issues I was having, so I ended up replacing both the SSD and the motherboard thinking it would solve the problem. It did for a few months, but now I am once again experiencing various issues that I think may be related to the CPU (Possibly the first few months where the AIO was literally allowing my CPU to fry itsself caused damage?)

Overall, this is a terrible machine. Do not make the mistake I did. I was gullible and bought this thinking it was a strong machine for a great price. It has been nothing but issues and has cost me a ton of money. Build your own PC, because brands like to cut corners on other components (like cooling) to keep the overall price down.

And do not buy MSI. MSI had my brand loyalty for years, but after my experience with this computer, I won't be buying from them ever again. The parts just aren't quality anymore and the customer support is terrible.

DO NOT BUY THIS COMPUTER.

Your 13700kf is twice or more performance of this sucker and the 4080 is a beast. You only paid $1500 not even twice. Why bother?

woot has had some really good deals in the last month or two on gaming pcs.

A little over a month ago, I ordered from woot a refurbished msi i7-12700k/16gbDDR5-4800mhz/1tbSSD/3080ti12GB for $1100 and it looked brand new, still had the clear plastic film on the case and the boxes for the keyboard and mouse had seals on them.

I ended up returning it (didn't actually use it) because after I received it, woot had for sale a refurb i7/32gb/3070/1tbSSD for $600 and so I ordered that. It has worked great so far, no issues.
Which cpu was the $600 one

It's a 3080 10gb not 12. It's a OEM garbage card, but still a 3080. You can buy Dell ones similar to this for $380 on eBay. Same thing.

Most likely it's just a cooler. Nothing else. The ssd is a easy one. Motherboard should not have a lot of problems and cpu will not crack itself for only 100c, which was a normal temp during 2014 for laptops.
So basically the real thing here is the cooler and case design. I won't worry too much about others.

I don't think a 11700KF can sustain it's boost on a 120mm AIO. This will thermal throttle. I stay away from MSI pre-builts, especially refurbs.

Key Features:
Intel Core i7-11700KF 3.6GHz (up to 4.9GHz) 16MB cache 8-core processor
120mm Liquid Cooler

LHR card I assume…

That being said I could really use another gaming rig for one of my OLED TV's.

Affirm gives me this sexy 12 month finance option. Sigh.

How to hide this from wife?
How are house gonna hide the computer?

Whenever there are many refurbished deals for a model or brand of something, it always strikes me as "wow a lot of these were returned / needed repair in order to have so much refurbished stock"

Old CPU, old motherboard, old RAM, but that GPU is worth the price for a whole PC if you don't need to be on the cutting edge.
