My local lowes has Genie 1.25-HP Belt Drive Garage Door Opener Battery Back-up on sale for $180 (No WiFi). I paid $219 a few months ago.
It will take 3-4hrs to install this the first time. A tip, once you have it all setup and adjusted, if the wall console (not the wireless keypad) doesn't light up red, reverse the wires on it to fix it.

There are devices called homelink repeaters that capture the signal from your car and then transmit the newer signal. Yes, it is less security, but your other options are a new car or using a remote.

Just me, but I will always have a battery backup on any opener that I replace.
Something else that my garage door guy told me to get was a surge protector for the opener. He told me that today's openers are really sensitive to voltage spikes and can fry the expensive circuit board preys easily.
I picked one up from Amazon for around $10.

However the one you provided isn't very good. The clamping voltage is 500v. At that high, you'll have damage before it kicks in. Surprised genie even sells that. 500v clamping is usually a no name unit.
For actual electronics you care about you want 330v clamping
Good to know. I have a 2013 and after some trial and error got mine to work. Had to press 1+3 for 10 seconds to clear, get opener in programming mode, run to my car, press 1 every 1 second until I saw the garage move.

1. I assembled the opener on the floor, first. Pretty easy. (They use BILT app which is cool)
2. Installed the new door sensors + had to run the wiring. (PITA)(I would use existing if you have it.)
3. Installed new wall switch next to old one + ran new wiring. (semi-PITA)
4. (Next day) Removed old garage door opener leaving all the old brackets in place.
5. Attached the new unit to the existing brackets.
6. Reused the hangers from the old door opener to attach the new motor to the ceiling.
7. Connected all the sensor and wall switch wiring.
8. Plugged it in, set the close and open levels, programmed the remotes.
9. Installed and configured the App
All is working well. I am now replacing the door rollers with Nylon type. The sound difference b/w the chain driven and belt is huge.I mean huge. You need a tall ladder if you plan to DIY. Its not too difficult if you have existing hook up points. If this is your first one and you are uncertain, I would pay someone to do it. The most annoying part was fishing the wire through the ceiling.

Whole house generator would be a huge expense and power is generally reliable. I got a genie opener with battery backup, wifi for $79 on BF from Lowes.
