I have a similar, older variant with the Ryzen 5800H and 3070 non-Ti. It's a beast of a laptop that I use as my daily driver (typing on it now).

While I can't personally vouch for the Intel i7-12700H, reviews suggest it outperforms my older 5800H. Build quality is really good and tanky. Easily the best gaming laptop I've ever owned.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find something with better gaming performance for the money, as well as good thermals. This is a great deal.

Legion 5 "Pro" laptops have excellent advanced thermals. No issues. Use daily for work. Endless hours a day. 500nits bright screen is fantastic.

Do you know what the existing ram is? I'm assuming two 8gb sticks with none soldered on?

Is there an extra spot for an extra hard drive? If so, do you know the max capacity?
