I started mine in July 10th 2023 and it expires July 10th 2024.. this AM I saw they ran it again so I just bought it but it still has the same July 2024 expiration aka next bill date.. how long does it take to change?

Acoustic is included. The Fender Play app has several "Paths" you can take for electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, and ukulele. Each path teaches you from the beginning with the same basic technique and skill lessons in orders that make sense for the style of play but totally different styles of songs for 'Feedback mode' lessons. Feedback mode uses your phone's mic to listen to you play so make sure you're keeping proper time, playing the right note, etc. and grades you based on how well you do. You can retake them as often as you like, playback your last attempt to hear your own mistakes, check out a graph that shows where you got off track, practice with a built in metronome, etc.

For acoustic guitar, they start you with John Denver's "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" under the folk path, John Lee Hooker's "Boom Boom" for blues, Dolly Parton's "9 to 5" for country, the Batman Theme and Lady Gaga's "Let's Dance" for pop, "Seven Nation Army" and "Another One Bites the Dust" for rock, and soul begins with "Love Rollercoaster" by the Ohio Players and "September" by Earth, Wind, & Fire. Instructors for all paths use a mix of acoustic, electric, and acoustasonic guitars for the technique and skill lessons.

Some instructors are better than others! I like Gloria Estrada's bass lessons and saw her in the guitar path previews so hopefully she features often. Find her non-Fender-owned lessons on YouTube to get a feel for her style.

Edit: I forgot to mention you can switch between paths and instruments any time you want and the app will keep track of where you were when you go back. You can also do lessons out of order if you're stuck on a certain skill or song and go back to it later. It's worth the $15 even if you only plan to use it casually over the next year.

Rocksmith is more of a video game with real guitars. It can however get you interested in learning how to actually play. Picking up the guitar is sometimes the hardest part for some.

I verified Khan is correct. My current annual membership (which I got 1 year free from purchase of a guitar) expires January 8, 2024. I wanted to take advantage of this and at checkout it said expires one year from today, but once I completed the purchase it says next payment (of $15) due on January, 2024.

It works exactly as Khan describes. My annual subscruption (I got one year from with purchase of my guitar) expreis on January 8, 2024. I purchased this following the exact instruciotns and there was NO billing to my credit card, but under my Fender Play account it says next payment of $14.99 is due on January 8, 2024.

So it didn't actually charge me yet or extend my account a year, but appears to lock in the $15/annual rate for my auto-renewal.
