This is not slick. Slick would be priced closer to the new E50.

$1000-1100 at the most.

The E50 is a much better deal in terms of functions.

Question: If piano action and sound are the priorities, i.e., to be used as a space-constrained acoustic replacement, isn't this a good deal for that? Especially that post-pandemic supply issues may be lingering.

Everyone else is selling this and its little siblings (ES120 and ES520) at retail.

The 520 has come down to as low as $850 on slickdeals several times.

If you negotiate, the regular dealers will can probably sell at those prices too.

Sound side of things, onboard sound just ok. You can do much better if you hookup your own amp and boxes.

Action is comparable to the fp30x or E50, but the Kawai touch is lighter.

Look up Miriam Pianos review and comparison of this versus the FP-90X. The Onkyo sound is very good on these things and the key action (GHIII) is very nice. My only issue with this deal is that the P-515 is in this range and the key action on that is better in my personal opinion. Also, you can add a pair of monitors and a sub or just a sub combined with the onboard speakers for much fuller sound and the Kawai does not allow for that.

However, it is a very nice keyboard at a very good price.

As for the FP-E50, I felt that was a very good buy, but there are some places where they certainly cut corners and you don't really notice them until the reviewers highlight it.

You see things like BT issues and incompatibility with the Roland apps.

And this one he compares it to what many consider to be the best in class portable digital piano.

Thanks for the info on the action. My wife and I are not fans of the Roland action, and it sounds like Kawai is similar. Between playing Yamahas and Rolands at Guitar Center a while ago, we both seemed to have preferred the Yamahas. Disappointing because for some reason I thought the Kawai action would be closer to Yamaha. I am interested in knowing what the action is on Korgs.
