This is a great price. I was able to get it for this last November after requesting a deal from my Sweetwater rep and he hooked it up. We got it for my daughter to learn piano and it sounds great. Would recommend a solid stand for it like the ones from Liquid audio. I got a bench and stand from them and also picked up the triple pedal and a cheap cloth cover to help keep the dust off (although we dont use it as often as we should)

Beware this along with the 520 model has a chassis vibration problem as per the forums, makes a squealing noise depending on volume and sound patch.

But you can't beat this deal. Get it and use your own speakers. I tried it at the store, the line out is not very clean but the headphone out works fine.

Thanks ended up buying it. Price matched to BHPhoto to have my payboo card cover the tax.

I was shopping in the $500-$600 price range for maybe the Costco deal or the FP-30X but this one seems very highly reviewed especially if you are just playing piano, which is what I'll be doing.

I have external amps and speakers already so I was tempted by a cheaper deal on say a Roland FP-10 and then plugging it in with my speakers and getting something like Pianoteq VST and I could have saved $1000 and had something really nice, but at the end of the day the convenience of an all-in-one that sounds great and feels great out of the box and is higher quality was too tempting.

It'll be here Wednesday.

Bought this last year same price from adorma - also bought the original stand and pedal for this piano from Sam Ash.

After extensive research, this is easily the best digital piano at this price point in terms of key action, sound engine (piano sounds, samples, polyphony etc), amplifier (onkyo) and speakers (onkyo). No chassis vibration or any of that as reported by some users.

My children vouch that it feels and sounds better than the grand and upright acoustic pianos they play at their teachers place.

Great product and awesome deal if you are a serious piano student or a professional gig artist.

At the risk of sounding ignorant, could someone explain why this Kawai digital piano is a 'good deal' despite being double the price of a solid Yamaha or Roland model with (seemingly) similar features? No snark intended, I'm genuinely curious!

There's no way it's double the price. You are paying for the piano action and the sound samples. This is a great piano.

This is $1300, I got my Yamaha P525 at $1280 (using my employment discount). And my teacher said it has a good key action. Even so, when I first tried on my teacher's grand acoustic, the feeling was still quite different. I wonder if ES920 gives you a closer feeling.

With a more expensive digital piano, you are paying for more realism: more realistic key action, more realistic key surface, more realistic sound generation (better computer), and more realistic sound output (better amplifier and speakers).

I had the 520 for about 2 years and never had this issue. Might just be some pianos and not all.

The ES 920 is the competitor to the P515/525, and FP-90X. Both of those will cost more than this to purchase.

I have the P515 and the key action is actually significantly heavier than an Acoustic Grand. I like the heavier action, but it is well known that it is not a 1-1 match for an acoustic grand piano.

This would probably be a closer match as would the FP-90X and Casio PX-870.
