Thanks. I have 2 Levoit and very happy with them but I guess I could use this for another room that doesn't have an air purifier

For those curious, this has a CADR of 167 (smoke) the current $105 Costco winix has a CADR of 232 and comes with 2 years of filters.

Is it way better than the one in this thread?

Code works fine. Did you add the filler to make the total over $100?

It's more about your room size that you're using it in for CADR ratings. I specifically like the Winixs as costco frequently has replacement filters on sale (there hepa filters are to be changed every year vs on this one it is 6 months for price comparisons), and if the actual device fails costco will send you a new one. The only thing I specifically don't like about this filter is unlike every other air purifier I've ever seen, it puts the activated carbon AFTER the HEPA. It's also arguably a benefit of the winix that it has a basic pet hair/dust screen that's cleanable before the carbon (some people also like the ionizer which can also be turned off if you don't.) Really above all else cost wise it depends on how long you're going to run your filter. If it's going to be 24/7 then the Costco deal gives you two full years of filters while this deal gives you 6 months. So this deal would make sense if you're just filtering the tail end of wildfire season in a smaller room. But if you're going to full-time filtering, I would argue the better performance and longer period of time before you buy another filter would give the nudge to the Costco deal.

For CADR/room sizing the asthma people (and energy star) recommend the 2/3 rule which is have a CADR rating of at least 2/3 the room's total size, the higher the ratio the "better" it will clean a room's air.

Just cancelled the bissell and will order the one from Costco. Thanks for your input.

What do you mean by "and if the actual device fails costco will send you a new one."? Can you clarify this please? I have 2 535 from Costco, the fans failed on both of them. Worn bearings. So I'm not to confident in the longevity of their products.

If the device (winix) fails (at any time in theory) costco's satisfaction guaranteed warranty will cover it and they'll either credit your original payment method, or send you a new one. Go to your account, click on the order with the defective product, on the right click return or replace items, check the box next to the item that failed, and then click continue. If a replacement for a previously replaced item failed you'll have to contact customer service (have your order # handy). If you're getting a replacement, use the box they send you the replacement in to send yours back. In theory you can also return (and possibly replace) the dead winixs at your local warehouse.

Thanks for the detailed information. Unfortunately mine was purchased via Google Express/Costco in 2019. So they can't even look up the order even though I have the order number.

After 30+ minutes on the phone, they found the invoice and offered a refund and a return label. I haven't received the return label yet so we shall see. Thank you.
