I don't always have mine on the roof. When I do I place a sawhorse inside the garage door blocking the way, so I don't forget and do that.

I would HIGHLY suggest FB Marketplace. I was able to find many for as low as $150 in excellent condition. Bought multiple ones in the last 2 years until I kept the one that suits our needs the best.

Yakima has a lifetime warranty, but that covers defects in materials and workmanship, not someone bashing into a low clearance garage. You could probably repair it with epoxy and fiberglass (check out West System [amazon.com]) or bring it to a boat or surfboard guy to fix for you.

I see they price matched the packing cubes too. The small/medium set is actually about a dollar more than just buying the small and medium cubes separately. Faster shipping too buying separately.

I love my Thule. Every time we go on vacation(2 adults, 3 kids), I'll slap it on my wife's Palasade, and we put almost everything up there.
