Don't toss back 20 a day and you'll be fine.

Actually some studies have shown that 4000mg/day for a week [goodrx.com] can start to cause damage but it's reversible. That's just over 12 a day.

Fda recommendations are less than 3000mg/day if you have a healthy liver. The "destroyer" comments above are inappropriate. Please show me any medication that has no side effects?

If acetaminophen were to come to the FDA today, it would not have been approved over the counter in the doses currently used. It may not have been approved at all over the counter. So please be careful using it.

I know a famous Seattle Seahawk who had to have a kidney transplant due to acetaminophen. Now he was taking a lot of them due to pain. And yes, it was a kidney not his liver, but it seems that at least two internal organs are impacted by taking this stuff, although a couple here and there for headaches probably isn't an issue.

Uhh are you sure?

https://www.goodrx.com/acetaminop...or-kidneys

No. In fact, Tylenol is preferred over other OTC pain relievers if you have kidney problems. As detailed earlier, Tylenol is broken down almost completely by the liver. So the kidneys aren't really involved until the end.

Everything in moderation people, though frankly I'm not surprised OD on Tylenol since in my experience it's the least effective OTC painkiller.

That's weird considering they just approved a 250mg ibuprofen and 500mg acetaminophen combo pill for OTC use a few years ago.
