Also for those who are Muslim. The gelatin has a good chance of being from pig, so many of my more devout Muslim friends avoid gelatin altogether

Gelatin is derived from animal products and may be considered non-kosher by vegans and some vegetarians.

Vitamin capsules are usually made with animal-source gelatin, so it's non-vegetarian, vegan, and possibly no-go for various religious restrictions.
