unless your homeowners policy has some bizarre, non-standard exclusion (which does occur in NYC and other extremely population dense high-rise areas, but mostly for non-owned dwellings) you'll be covered.
if you'd like to review your policy, shoot me the form number at the bottom and i'll be happy to help; instead of just repeating the same "facts".
your company mails this to you at least once per year and is available online as well.
from decades in insurance: if it not SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDED it'll be covered.
make it 65 watts and we have a deal. this way we can charge our laptops directly!
edit: I bought this https://a.co/d/i7bZ3jd and installed it today. it is impressive as it charged my laptop and auto adjusted wattage when I connected more than one device. it is a good investment and I highly recommend it. you need to wiggle the electric plug since there is a plastic cap protecting the outlet prongs.
Leviton makes a 60w with power sharing, much better and you still get 2 outlets
The Leviton T5636-W offers 60W of charging. But, it's also nearly 4X the price at $90 ($80 on Amazon). Also, the reviews indicate that it does not support all PD charging profiles, especially the 9v profiles. Leviton support is passing the buck to device manufacturers instead of owning up and resolving the issue with their device.
Any high quality brand that makes something similar to this?
Leviton: Search amazon for B07PTWG5DV (2x USB-C) or B07668S975 (1 USB-A and 1 USB-C)
They have a ton of them on their website, all UL listed: https://www.leviton.com/en/produc...eceptacles They of course cost more then this deal. Although they have a couple GFCI outlets with the USB on them also if that's what you need.

Does anyone make these in 100 watt or 65 watt configuration? Device wattages go up every few years. Even some phones nowadays can take a 100 watt charger to charge at a very fast rate.
UL and ETL are roughly equivalent. Having a produced that is UL and/or ETL listed shouldn't void any home insurance claims. That said, don't trust the mark or the listing. Check that UL and/or ETL actually has the product listed.
Annoying for my situation is that I'd need this outlet to be GFCI as the one I'd like to change out is the first in line in my kitchen and next to the sink. Good deal otherwise.

Upgrading these every few years is a pain but I think 65 watt Type-C would work for the foreseeable future.
Definitely would not want a single grounded plug either.
