You might be able to fight legally on medical necessity. For example if you had a CPAP and the HOA tries to fine the generator "keeping you alive", that's a problem.

Mine is trash. NOT REFURBISHED, looks HEAVILY USED. Oil leaking in box and scratches and scuffs all over outside of generator with sun faded labels. Looks heavily used or left outside for a long period

Contacted the seller and they were very dismissive. Just said to issue eBay Return. The item weighs almost 100lbs in packaging. They want me to load into my car, drive to a UPS, unload from my car, take my hand truck to get into UPS store for what? A refund of what I paid?

They know 100% they never inspected the item, sent an item that did NOT match their description and was NOT refurbished but instead USED (and / or returned after used and never inspected). This seller should not be trusted and buy definitely at your own risk

I do not think all of the effort to return is anywhere worth us being EVEN. And the seller knows this too which is why they DARE you to do the return process

Very similar experience and the customer service response was very telling. Basically daring me to take the time, effort, and breaking my back to return it. For what? To get my original money back? Needs to be a penalty to fraudulent sellers like this. They know these aren't refurbs and they know they don't match their description

Nice, I'm leaning towards a similar setup with critical loads on a sub panel (partly to reduce circuits in my main box) with my reliance protran 2 manual transfer switch, and probably add a couple new circuits in the subpanel.

Tried with a couple things, with a ~1500W kettle output cut off almost immediately. It also had the electronics on the base quickly cycling on/off without the kettle ON.

https://i.imgur.com/ceD7X21.mp4 audio/video of it in action - unit looks and is in pretty good overall but some of the stickers on the top were yellowed by the sun (and/or heat). Pretty sure the hour meter was blank too as if reset - I don't think it even showed a 0.

Initially I'd started out charging my EF Delta 2 at 200W, which went ok, and 400W, neither really kicked it up above eco idle. 600W is where it output started cutting pretty much right away. Yes, I also tried this on eco mode - similar behavior.

I did get the Delta 2 to charge at approximately its max 1200W for a bit, but didn't maintain it because it was getting late There may be hope.. but I've got the dual fuel 3200/400W unit coming.
Rather disappointing for it to choke at 1500W when they claim 2900 running.

It sounds like you've already put up enough of a fight. I'd call in the morning and get an RMA. Do you know if they pay return shipping?

Get your psychiatrist to prescribe you a bouncy house, see how that works out with the HOA.
I wrote a useful and honest review. You resorted to childish name calling. Can we meet in person to fix your issues?

Hey, thanks for the link. I will look in my local Costco to see if they sell it in the store. I remember seeing a two pack of heavy-duty extension cords there last week. I want these to be able to run two refrigerators and other stuff.
They tend to have the 2 pack year round. I have used them for about 9 years and still working fine. Every year in Autumn they stock an extension cord with 3 outlets. Presumably for Christmas lights. Sams sells a similar spool in green but that is 14 guage I think so not good for anything like a kitchen appliance or heater.

Just got mine, shipping was well packaged. Really surprised how compact and relatively "lightweight". Checked the oil, love the oil drain/fill area! Great design! Filled the oil up with 10w-30, closed it up, and it started right up first pull. Tried to recoil start it but either this unit actually doesn't have it or mine doesn't work, however it's very easy to start so. Great purchase thanks!

Pull cord start = recoil start... that's what this unit is. Also, make sure to try various loads on it before calling it ready for emergency backup use.

Mine was no good when tested with loads - AC output dropped out frequently and wasn't happy/reliable at all for any loads over 600W & got a refund.

I was under the assumption that recoil start, like on STIHL weedeater, blowers, and other generators I've tried, meant they'll start by letting the cable "recoil" , that's how those work.

I tested it with over 1000watts of fans running and nothing cut out. Voltage was steady ~123, frequency was dead on 60hz, don't have equipment to test THD but a UPS sees it as clean so. Tested Eco mode, regular, let it run, everything I could other than pushing the full 2900 watts which I will do soon as we live in hurricane areas.

Might be a brand thing causing some confusion, but 'recoil' just comes from the way the rope re-coils on itself once pulled.

And glad to hear they're not all defective like the one I got, lol.. I've got the 3200/4000W dual fuel ordered now, once that comes I'll probably run two heaters on it to make sure it can do ~3000W output.

What sorts of things did you try running?

Didn't need one, but I could not pass this deal. 2 year warranty gives it a piece of mind as well.

Yep, kind of hard to say "no" to a 2900W inverter generator for $240 - I hope the one you get works, but I definitely recommend putting it through its paces once you get it, and before you need to rely on it!

Bought that cord from Costco. I know it just says 10-30 oil but anyone mind linking what they use? Also what aftermarket charger they bought for the starter? Thanks in advance!

For the 4000 inverter generator.

Why does it matter if the adapter is rated for 50 amps instead of 30? If the connectors are the same?

Any 10w-30 oil I just grabbed the Walmart Super tech. Have a trickle charger but may try a few 12v AC chargers as easier to plug into the control panel to charge

My 4000w dual fuel arrived today that I ordered on Tuesday. Overall, it is in good condition. There are some large scuffs on the outer plastic on one side, but inside the engine compartment it looks spotless. The scuffs aren't bad enough to exchange it, I assumed there would some some blemishes.
I put some oil in it, hooked it up to a propane tank and it started right up with the electric start. Let it run for a few minutes plug a few things in an turned on to test under load and was working fine. Slick.
