Have owned one since 2021 and have almost 50 hours on it in that time. No issues with it whatsoever. I took someone on the forums advice at the time and ran it for an hour with eco mode off after purchase with the new oil and then changed the oil once again and at every 25 hours after. I only run clear (ethanol free) gas through it and love the ability to turn off the gas flow to the carb to let it run dry after each use. In doing this I have had zero issues with the unit.

Would definitely recommend getting an hour meter to know how long you've run it since each oil change, something like this. https://www.amazon.com/Magicalmai-Inductive-Motorcycle-Snowmobile-Waterproof-Hour/dp/B07Y3ZYBLW/ref=... [amazon.com]
The regular oil changes may be a bit excessive, but oil is cheap, so why not change it regularly?
This thing sips the fuel especially in eco mode. From a noise standpoint I would say it's marginally louder than an equivalent 2000 watt Honda, but comes at 1/6th the price so there's that.

If you are going to buy the little one, watch this video so that you know it's weakness, it has a design flaw that makes it work like a floor vacuum sucking up whatever is under it so you need to know not to put it on bare dirt or sand.

There is a coupon code that needs to be applied to get the $200 price, noted in OP, LABORDAYTWENTY.

Anyone with experience good or bad with refurbished units from Firman or specifically buying one through the Ebay seller? I have a new unit in the box still from Costco from their last sale, but the same generator is just over 50% less. It was bought to become my emergency generator, run for a bit every now and then. I like the Costco return protection, but like the refurb price

I bought this last month. Mine didn't fit the "eBay factory refurbished" definition. The case was 3 years old and sun damaged, it looks old and used. But the inside was a brand new motor and all internals. So if you're looking for a pretty unit, keep your new one. If you want a cheap refurb that looks used, with new internals, buy this

Hard decision, larger one is 4db louder and double the fuel tank size. 30 pounds heavier but on wheels which I would enjoy a lot more than carrying the smaller 54lb unit. Larger one consumes gasoline at 2x the rate of smaller.

It depends on what you want to run. If you just want to run a couple fridges and lights and tv and stuff, the small one will do. If you also must run an a/c unit on top of all that, and or your microwave, get the 3200w unit. The small one is nice and portable, the big one at least has wheels so you don't have to carry 100lbs all the time.

Curious if I should consider this, or one of the 2100w models. Hard to tell what the difference is between the 1784F and the 1781F though, except for the 30a plug, which seems to only work when its in parallel

I have the 2000 from a July? deal. I just ran it for a few minutes a couple days ago (not in parallel) and powered a heat gun using an adapter for the 30A twist lock outlet. Probably you'd need to parallel two of them to get the 30A out of it but that definitely provides power when running alone. I am pretty sure both have the same 80cc chonda type engine so might not be much difference if you're not maxing out the 2100/1700 watts.
