I bought this same kit in 2018 for $27.75 - so seems to be a reoccurring/common price.

No way is this stuff worth $144 - it's barely worth $30

Anyone know why I couldn't use this for inground pool? Feel like good deal just for the pole and everything else is just extra.

@r_b_baker: This is from the product page:
  • This kit includes a 110" telescoping aluminum shaft for use with 18' diameter pools and above.
  • The kit also includes a vacuum that sucks debris off the pool floor and through the filter (requires an Intex filter pump with a minimum flow rate of 800 gph (3,028 L⁄hr)) and can attach to the outlet connector in the pool with a 24' 7" hose.
  • The telescoping aluminum shaft can be used with the included attachments.
It may also need to be an Intex brand, or comparable, pool. Hope this helps!

The pole will probably be short. I use a 15' pole. I have an 8' deep pool though so it's possible you could get away with this if yours is only 5' deep or less.

The vacuum looks like junk and appears to be proprietary.

You're better offer getting quality pool equipment.

The vacuum uses the suction from the pump to actually suck up debris at the bottom of the pool. So as long as you would be able to either connect to one of the suction port to the pump or maybe T off the line some how, the vacuum would be useless for you. That being said, it's is a great package and I usually block off the second suction port on my pool and the vacuum picks up everything sitting at the bottom of my pool. The "original" price is INSANELY inflated. I brought this a few months back for about the same price but had it in the cart for awhile and never once saw it go above $30. But it is a really nice package.

Reg $149 no. $44 at Walmart.

This is low quality as Intex makes those small pop up $100 temporary pools, would not purchase if you own a real pool.

All of the Intex stuff will be going on sale over the next few months.

Grab a new pool and accessories for next summer while its 50%+ off.

And get a big filter pump or their saltwater system when it goes on sale. Having a bigger filter is nice in a smaller pool and the Intex saltwater system works extremely well too. I really preferred salt to chlorine and the chlorine shortage didn't bother me a bit.

I got this at the beginning of summer for around $32, so not that slick, IMO. The kit itself is meh, the pole is nice. While I like the skimmer net, it ripped fairly quickly (not sure if the kids did it or the weather). I ended up getting one of the pool "robo vacuums" which actually works well.

The net and scrubby thing is probably pretty good, but I've gotten the intex vacuum thing before and it doesn't do as good as a job as you'd think. If you think about how much water comes out of the pump back into the pool, that's how much it will suck. So it's not a whole lot.

Bought this about 5 years ago. Works well for my Intex pool. The brush that comes with it will eventually start losing the bristles in the water. Plan on buying a different one
