HyperSpin, RetroArch, and others that you may or may not have heard of do very similar things as LaunchBox. Your best bet is to download the free Launchbox and play around with it yourself. You will be missing some premium features in Big Box that help make LaunchBox that much better - custom fields, color themes, filters, automation, and other features that get added and updated. It is well supported by the creators with continuous updates, as well as the community with plug-ins, add-ons, custom themes, etc. You can do most of what you want with LaunchBox, but Big Box mode adds that special touch to the boot, launch, view, play, and even shutdown.

Does it support mods like nexusmod? Or do they need to be done externally. I wish there was a one stop shop for eveything
