Really wish Microsoft would release a better controller with something updated other than the color of plastic.
Dualsense is miles ahead of Xbox controllers with features like gyroscope, adaptive triggers and better haptics- but natively, I prefer the feel of an Xbox controller.
The elite series isn't a step in the right direction either for a couple paddles on the back at 2.5x the price.
If Xbox did the following for Elite Series 3, I'd buy ASAP:
1. Hall Effect Sensors - no more stick drift!
2. Replaceable batteries - Rechargeable Eneloops for the win!
3. Better features - gyroscope, adaptive triggers, and. better haptics
4. More Elite themes - with so many IPs, why not make more themed controllers? Starfield, Gears of War, Forza, Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush and others would've made great candidates!
From the reviews people left on the AllState plan, yes, it covers stick drift !!!BUT!!! note that you have to check with Microsoft first. In other words, register your Xbox controller (device) to your account and if it fails or has stick drift within a year, contact MS first. After that, check with AllState. Hope this helps!

Target sold me an open controller. Seal was broken, checked Microsoft for the warranty and it expires 9/10/23. Sucks because I used a targeted circle $10 off promo on it too.
It came back in stock at Amazon and Walmart price matched too. Both of those groups offer 3 year warranties so I would find that to be compelling. Up to you if you'd want to return it and purchase elsewhere.
After seeing pictures of this on Reddit I had to pick this up. Gorgeous. Thanks! Amazon has them in stock, fyi. I got "today" shipping, which is really nice.
Mine arrived, it really is easy on the eyes. Looks just like a vinyl car wrap on a Charger I've seen around town. Rubber grip art is cool and functional.
ive heard that the color coating on these "shift" controllers peel off? is this true? ive heard it about the lunar shift one and it stopped me from buying it.
Best Buy has a huge amount of user photos uploaded. I saw one photo of a lunar shift with chips around the thumb stick contact points so I looked extra hard to find a similar complaint about this stellar shift and couldn't find anything. Hoping it's just that version with issues, because this thing looks amazing. I'm going to have to remember how to solder in a year or so to keep this one alive.

I agree so much that I now feel like the Xbox controller is overpriced for what it offers.
