How do these compare to the more basic Oral-B toothbrushes? I've got one that takes AAs and I don't really know how much cleaner my teeth could get.

If you're a Sam's Club Member check your store location, The one near me every day's price is $29 for 6 Ultimate Clean Brush heads. I know that other stores are $49 so its YMMV but always good to check. Got them on sale for $21 about a month ago.

The io series is very much a love it or hate it type of brush. The heads allow for water to stream through multiple directions of the head to make your brushing supposedly better, and using the app and AI it can show you where you're brushing well.

The general consensus from almost every dentist and orthodontist is that it's no better than paying $80 to get an oral b smart 1500 with the floss action brush heads.

Been using IO 9 series for 3 years now, the 6 pack ultimate clean brush heads go on sale cheaper than this as others stated. But gentle care bristles are softer, so I might try these out.

It's kind of like a Sonicare feel with an Oral-B style small round head. It's a lot quieter and the brush is a bit slimmer and more modern looking. If you don't care that you're spending more money, it might be a more enjoyable experience.

However, I didn't notice that it cleans any better than the classic head. In fact, I find that the classic cleans better. Not really worth it for 50% more per brush had than the classic heads. They're $49 for 6 heads at my Sam's Club vs $55 for 10 on the classic heads, though both go on sale for a bit cheaper.

Yes, the iO brushes are linear driven with a magnet.
