So if I pick two different stores for pickup, don't pick up the battery, no need for a return and I only get billed $95? Is $95 slick?

You def get billed for both, but that part should be returned to you after the 2nd part is canceled/returned.

Thanks, do they cancel automatically if batteries are not picked up?

I think in the email, it says you have like a week. I've had them keep it much longer.

Kinda luck of the draw, sometimes canceled quick and others I gave in and called the store after 3-4 weeks for them to cancel/return.

Can't comment on if this is good, haven't really looked into it. I usually use ebay's recently sold "new" item prices for my max for personal tools.

I don't know if its changed but 6 months ago, I successfully did this on the miter saw/stand deal. It took 3/4 weeks for them to call me and see if I wanted the second item and then cancel it, giving me the refund.

This tool is really great, I use it for so many things from trimming tile and stone, cutting small pieces of wood (quick and dirty) to pruning bushes. It's actually fantastic for cutting down cardboard boxes too!

Great deal, been on my eBay watch but rather take it new than open box/used at around the same price.

Do we know if this is any more powerful than the Milwaukee M12 3inch cutoff tool?

I have the M12 and it wasn't as strong as I needed. I was trying to cut 1/8" sheet aluminum. It kept shutting off. I'm thinking it has a thermal overload shutoff.

The detachable shoe makes this a great "mini circular saw." (I have grinder and 7 1/4 circular)

I've not played the "return hack" before.
If I order for delivery, as easy as just returning the battery kit to my local store? Thanks

What do people use these for. I have a 20V angle grinder and portable band saw, can't think of a use case for this.

The reviews I watched suggested a decent amount more powerful, The M12 is more prone to binding and stalling. I have both systems and ended up buying this after watching multiple reviews. But I haven't needed it much so far, TBH I mainly bought it to cut out sheetmetal sections on junkyard cars for projects in a small form factor and I haven't run into that need yet.

Back in February I got mine for $129 from a local hardware store ("Gilroy's Got It") and thought even that was a great deal compared to the usual $180. I don't regret spending the extra and absolutely love it! Used it on Saturday to salvage an under-sink hot water heater by blindly cutting the copper pipe I couldn't get to behind it. Turns out I went right through the fitting like it was butter!

I then saw it boxed at a salvage store for $120 a week later. Getting it new with a warranty for even less?! Don't sleep on this.

Yes. Simply return the battery. The receipt from HD shows the "return value" on each item.

The tool is showing up as $179 with the $159 Compact Battery Starter Kit as a free gift. Can the battery simply be returned for a $159 store credit? Getting the cut-off tool for a net cost of $20 seems too good be true.

I'm the OP. Not sure why someone keeps marking every comment as not helpful and trying to down vote this deal. Maybe they're a die hard Milwaukee fan. 🤷🏼 ♂️

The "hack" for this is to order with the free battery then return the battery and your total comes out to the posted price. If you ship to home I've had some luck chatting in and getting them to cancel the unwanted item (in this case the battery), but YMMV on that. I've seen lots of people that ship to two different stores and just never pickup the unwanted item. Works, but can take time for the refund depending upon on how long they hold for you to pickup.
