Right? Solar powered flash lights are the way to go! They need to do away with these pesky propane devices, they're the reason the ice caps are melting 😁

Been in the market for a cot. Anyone have any personal experience with the one listed or recommend one? Never used one and tired of air mattresses not lasting long. TIA

It's clear many don't camp, a small led lantern will last people most of the trip. If you're camping and using the 1lb propane tanks for cooking, you're not going to want to burn that up otherwise you'll have to bring more to start with. Why would you want to bring extra contraptions and weight when you're camping, even if it's car camping.

I'm in the same boat as you, in the market for a cot and these look like a pretty good price... that said, I checked out some Amazon reviews and it seems like the two biggest problems are:

1. A pain to adjust/setup. Adjusting the back requires standing up (and apparently can be a finger pinching hazard), risk of folding up on you if not correctly locked in place
2. Really slick material. Many reviews mention that trying to use it in anything but the flat position results in it acting like a slide, especially if you're in a nylon sleeping bag

(Honorable mention, I also saw people saying the sun made the cot material deteriorate, so be aware of that if you found the idea of a "sunbathing chair" intriguing.)

I'm really only looking at them for extra beds for kids when we have a lot of family over, so those aren't *necessarily* deal breakers for me.... but I also see quite a few cheap cots on Amazon now that I'm there, so I'm trying to decide how much the Coleman name is worth compared to something that might suit my personal needs better

Seems like rechargeable batteries and a backpacking sized solar panel would be a better option than trying to find, carry and use 1lb propane bottles, not too mention the delicate mantles propane lanterns usually have.

get an ultralight cot for $40-50 off of eBay. Fold up into a ft long bag and weigh 6lbs.

Coleman has their fleece lined heavy duty $85 pants marked down to $21 at Sams Club. I didn't buy 1 because the pockets are stiched on the outside so you don't get a secure fit of your phone if your moving around. I might try it out to confirm that. On the + side it will better insulate the pants.

REI has one with big feet but its pricey
my biggest gripe is the small feet poke holes or at least indents in your tent floor. but the bigger feet spread out the weight.
the long bar ones for feet would be better but no personal experience

Beware, the reviews are horrible on the 12x10 screened canopy sun shelter https://www.coleman.com/12-x-10-b...Point=Show that's too bad because it looks like a great mosquito free place to put a chest freezer DIY ice bath.
