So my prior generation Pro 5 has been an absolutely astounding machine. The current gen of the pro 5 does seem to have lowered quality a bit, I'm not sure how that translates to the Pro 7. Namely they went to a plastic bottom which reduces both thermals and build quality. But as someone who has bought caddillac laptops for over a decade now this is hands down the best one I have ever owned. It just ticks every box. Fast, good battery life, great thermals, great build quality, solid keyboard, the only trackpad I have ever been willing to use even on a temporary basis, screen is stunning etc.

I tagged you for that, but you also mentioned it being a little cheaper. There is a reputable (as in I have cash 10+k dollar checks from them) cash back website doing 10% right now on Lenovo. So that's about half your $500 reduction.

Also fwiw because of thermal throttling you won't see the exact step down at these specs you might expect by going slightly lower tier. At the end of the day the chassis can only expel so many watts of heat so fast and the higher up the power chain you go (especially with the Intel CPU) the worst the heat issues will become on your performance gains.
Yeah I went with a 4070 model (1 .1k after tax on open box) just cause the price hike is so big for a 4080/4090. Gonna just take those saving and upgrade my desktop 2080ti to a used 4070ti or something

Nevermind, I found a comparison site. You might find cash at a place that rhymes with Free Bugle and another that sounds like Racoon Tin. Any thoughts on which site is easier to redeem without hassles?
I don't know what the free bugle sounding site is, but I've used Racoon Tin for years and never had any problems, just got another $50 from them a week ago.

they have gotten amazingly good over the past 2-years, you can see status almost instantly and see your history of purchases too. 5+ years ago you had to wait 3+ months before you'd see a purchase show up or get approved , now it happens within 48-hours or even instantly depending on the merchant.

Amex offer (split payment between multiple cards)

Brings this under 2000, pretty significant price/performance. Lenovo is also known for sending additional discount emails if you let an item sit in your cart, ymmv

That being said, too big a chassis for me on the road, hopefully someone else can take advantage, nice find op
When you do ID me, it seems to launch a new window to Lenovo. CB would launch a new window as well. Would that create any issues?

Decent deal specs are tops. About only weakness is that the 13900HX is a barn-burner and will drain your battery faster than a hooker giving you a bj.
So, I feel like you started out with what I was expecting to be a bad thing, but you ended with a good thing. Now I'm confused, and a bit itchy.

You'll get heat for this but you're right. I tried a Legion with a 4080 both in desktop and laptop form. Both were beasts but at the same time, the gaming experience was very similar to my PS5.

I tried using Perks At Work... it came out to be $2,608.49 before tax

Although I am actually looking at the Legion 9i with the liquid-cooling and MiniLED with 4090
How to replicate this?

A PS4? Way too expensive for gaming. Just get yourself a $10 Bluetooth controller and emulate straight to your TV.

C'mon. I have a power limited 4070 laptop, and even that is more powerful than a PS5. Laptop 4080 and this 4090 blow it out of the water, let alone a 4080 desktop...

?? Perks at work is a worse deal in this case and you cant use the intel coupon with it or cashback.
