People like you made Costco stop their crazy good warranties. It's called abuse.

Got this a couple months back when it was on sale previously. Insanely good vacuum. The laser light head will be good for satisfying any OCD triggers

I would rather pay more money and get something like this from costco, an item that is known to randomly fail and be able to get my money back and buy another one to replace it.

This is too cheap... they should have made it an extra $200.

does anyone know how long Costco would accept a return on something like this? I cant find anything more than the 2 year manufacturer warranty.
I just returned a 4 year old lg cordzero yesterday to Costco. No issues if you have the order number or receipt. If you don't it takes them a while to locate in their system

Saw instore and the dust canister is super tiny. You will have to empty this thing every 100 sq ft!

There's no shipping charge, so about $9.99 cheaper.

My V8 battery (5-6 years old) just died. The reviews on the cheap batteries were not very confidence inspiring making me feel like it would be $50 wasted. Rather than get another v8 for $300, I decided to spend the extra $260 on this. After a day, I'm glad I did.

I love the new auto power feature. The new roller heads really do clean hair out themselves, which was really gross and annoying with the V8. The bare floor roller is more nimble and light weight, the dust bin holds a lot more and is easier to empty. The battery lasts much longer than my old one ever did and it is way better at cleaning carpet than the old one too. Finally, and these are just nice to have, it is satisfying to use because of the green laser light (making dirt super visible) and the particle counter.
Thanks for the feedback. My V8 is also on the second battery. Luckily it was still in warranty when the first one died so we got a replacement for free. We think it died because our house sitter was using the vacuum on MAX setting permanently, they said this could cause shorter lifespan. We put a piece of electrical tape over the max button and no issues since. We also had to replace a plastic part on of the motor head once, we found the identical part on Alibaba. Maybe I will replace it if it comes back down to $440 for BF.

Which Dyson is best for a 65yo woman who wants to vacuum tile and hardwood on 1st floor and carpet on 2nd floor?

I have read so much info here that I cannot decide. Some days I think a v12 slim so it's not heavy, other days I think it's not enough power. Then I get people talking about the V8 still kicking butt, and others saying how powerful the v15 is.

I do imagine my mother being ok with the added weight to be honest. She works out 5 days a week, God bless her soul!

I got this a month ago thru Bestbuy. Everything is good except for one thing: There is no power button, so you need to press and hold a button all the time when vacuuming, which makes my hand hurt.

The v10 torque model I bought from Costco broke. Dyson wouldn't fix it (wanted me to pay shipping) and Costco said it was under Dyson's warranty. Waiting for the dyson warranty to run out to see if costco will take the return. Until then I'm sol. Never again will I buy a dyson.

Costco never cares if it is under warranty, just return to the store!

I bought a replacement 3rd party battery for my v7 for like $30 a year ago and it actually made the v7 life better than when it was brand new. So far the battery has been better the the original.

Picked up a v12 Detect Slim for $310 when Bed Bath & Beyond was closing. These stick vacs are pretty strong for how small they are. You will have to change the canister a few times if your house is really dirty but you will save time because of how light and nimble they are. Make sure you have a full battery charge.

Got this a month ago when it was $440 at BB. Amazing vacuum. Capacity is a little low, and if you've got a filthy house you're going to empty it quite a few times when you first go through and clean.

I vacuum every day or two, and our house is ~2700 sq.ft. - mostly wood, with a little carpet. I end up filling 1/2 - 2/3 of the canister (mostly because our carpets are still shedding) and using 40-60% of the battery.

The Fluffy Optic head is a revolution. For hardwood/tile floors, it's absolutely incredible how well it works to reveal dust. Stuff you can't see but you can totally feel if you walk barefoot on the floors is revealed, so you know where the dirt is and when the floors are clean.

The "Digital Motorbar" head (regular beater-bar head) is great. It picks up a ridiculous amount of dirt, but be careful about the height setting - set it too low and it will pull fibers out of your carpets/rugs. Not so much the suction, but the beater bar.

It looks like the Costco version doesn't come with the "Light Pipe Crevice Tool", which is a shame since that's super neat for cleaning behind things.

All-in-all, I'm super happy with this vacuum. Don't know if I'd pay $600 when it was going for $450 just a month ago, but I'm very happy with it in the $450-500 price range, so maybe the extra $100 for a Costco warranty is worth it!
Completely agree and would add that another benefit of this model is that, unlike other dyson models, you don't need to hold down the power button for it to run. Even though it has a smaller canister than other models the portability far outweighs the occasional emptying of it during a cleaning. Especially since the canister is simple and quick to empty.

May I ask where you bought the battery? Seller? Thanks
