Do these cameras work without a Homebase3 unit? I have a Homebase2 and I would like to add more outdoor cameras with solar built-in.

I got one a year or so ago. I do like Eufy products, but this one is a dud. The base and mechanism that attaches the camera is flimsy and hard to tighten. After the winter, it fell off the deck from where it was hanging and could not be reattached because it just snapped off.

They have been cheaper. That said the camera itself is nice. The do indeed recharge themselves via solar. The picture is good and the AI does know the difference between wildlife and people. I've had in use for 5 months and no complaints thus far. However I am skeptical that the solar panel will hold up over time. I have had plenty of cheaper solar products (fence lighting, pathway lighting ect) that have had the solar panels yellow out and decay in sunlight over time. I am hoping these last more than a few years.

would wait and not get these, they have so many issues with connectivity and home-base support.

I'm going back and forth with the customer service several times and every time you get a new agent you're back to square one.

After buying new ones I'm reporting issues they made me mail that back and sent me old refurbished ones, but still have the same connectivity issue.

They told me to wait another 6 months they're releasing a new line of products with new hardware that addresses several of these issues.

POS I have two cameras in almost the same location as my Arlo, these cameras took forever to connect to wifi and time out mostly. The recording will disappear randomly.

Does not support RTSP by itself for anyone wondering.
This means it can't write to your NAS if that's your storage solution.

Yep you don't need Homebase 3. It has an internal storage that you can clear so often.
