The X was $82,200 in 2019, pre-covid. It's (essentially) back to its pre-covid price.
Teslas are far less likely to catch fire than internal combustion (but yes, harder to put out). They may be the safest vehicles on the road, an inherent advantage of not having to put a large metal engine up front.
Autopilot is an incredible achievement and a lot of videos out there by media outlets allegedly showing otherwise don't even have it enabled. Stupid. Dojo, the training for the FSD computer, just started recently so the progress toward autonomy is (while in its infancy) now finally going to harness Tesla's clear advantage in petabytes of training data.
Are we really arguing over whether Teslas are fast? Even the slowest Teslas are fast. Not just in a straight line. You won't find cheap strut suspensions, wrong wheel drive, and poor weight distribution on any Tesla.
Dunno if this helps anyone, but I sat is the Y and X over the weekend in 7 seat configurations. No way would I buy the Y to seat 7 even for short drives. The X was quite nice but too expensive before this price drop (literally, the price of two Y's). This pricing makes more sense.
Is it the fastest car ever made? No.
Is it the fastest production car ever made? No.
Is it the fastest production sedan under $100k from the Factory? Possibly if you don't count the Demon 170 which is a coupe.
Also what you classify as fast isn't the same thing as I do. 0-60 doesn't mean fast to me, it's quick. Quick to get up to speed. Fast is something that can do a 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, or top speed. I don't disagree that instant power is great, I was just pointing out the stupidness of saying it was "the fastest car ever made." I've got an Audi S4 that gets 3.2 0-60's with just a simple OTS tune, they just don't come that way from the factory.
Either way, there are a handful on the list above the plaid in each category. Demon 170, koenigsegg gemera, ssc tutara, rimac nevera, lucid air to name a few.
Tesla battery warranty is 8 years coverage.

But yes, you could get it replaced, and yes it has a 4 years or 50,000 miles warranty.
It is 8 years 120k miles for battery and drivetrain.
