It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990
Model S Plaid $89,990

You are absolutely right. I got the Model Y performance and I always drive in Chill mode…. It's insane I know. Track mode disables many safety features so it's not something you would want to use all the time anyway
Oh I always keep it in sport mode. I wonder how fast Chill mode is for Model Y performance, it's def safer as the acceleration is not a hair trigger like Sports Mode!

I love the acceleration but when I hit 100mph I have to back off so I am always thinking about a Plaid but given I don't think I will go 100mph sustained (say 5 minutes) and def won't go 120+ if there is someone else in my car I calculate how many times I drive and how often I can go 0-60 in 2s to factor in the "roller coaster" fun fee. So far the cost of roller coaster is not quite there.

The new Model 3 with 10% more range may finally got sub 3's when performance version comes out

Probably meant top acceleration, not velocity. To make it clearer, should say "quickest" instead of "fastest." I think I learned that when taking a college physics course.
Usain Bolt was not the quickest man on earth, he was the fastest.

What is this section 179 hack?
With a 6,800 pound GVWR, this Tesla model will qualify you for the Section 179 Heavy category with a deduction limit of $27,000. This is a luxury crossover SUV that comes with a 1,020 peak horsepower, electric engine. Its MSRP starts at $79,990.

Absolute bull. I bought a model 3 and it lost 18% of range within 2 years. I dumped that garbage during the Tesla shortage in 2021 and made a profit. Don't recommend EVs at all. I'd wait till minimum 2025 until the battery tech gets better and then I'm getting back into the EV game.
Were you charging it quickly and to 100% every time? I don't own an EV so I have no skin in the game to defend or attack EVs.

i have the 2023 model 3 and drove almost 3k of mile. i lost 1 mile of range every 900 miles. so right now my car is showing 270 mile at full charge. when i got my car it was showing 273 at full charge. feel a bit sad to see 3miles lost already. also i charge it at home slowly overnight most of the time.

Tesla and EVs for sure not for everyone. To me, my take, EV owner should
1. Own a home and have dedicated parking for charging
2. Have a home charger (have a 220V 60A)
3. Have solar
Ibeen EV owner since 2014 with the Nissan Leaf, 2x, Chevy Bolt and now Model Y. I don't use SC, only keep it as just in case and always charge at home. Love EVs as a daily car and not buying another ICE car. Do have ICE vehicle but uts a Class B camper van we use for roadtrips, technically my home/office on wheels.
1.Own a dedicated garage with a still unknown fire suppression system.

We bought a used 2018 75D X early last year for the same price as a new one now. I sorta feel like as if I invested in bitcoin. Resale value just tanked for sure.
The prices could go down further with their increasing supply and high interest rate for loans. Also these high end models don't have $7500 tax credit as well to lure middle class buyers

Now you're categorizing.
Is it the fastest car ever made? No.
Is it the fastest production car ever made? No.
Is it the fastest production sedan under $100k from the Factory? Possibly if you don't count the Demon 170 which is a coupe.

Also what you classify as fast isn't the same thing as I do. 0-60 doesn't mean fast to me, it's quick. Quick to get up to speed. Fast is something that can do a 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, or top speed. I don't disagree that instant power is great, I was just pointing out the stupidness of saying it was "the fastest car ever made." I've got an Audi S4 that gets 3.2 0-60's with just a simple OTS tune, they just don't come that way from the factory.
Most of us got the point.

I'm wondering now what middle class is nowadays. But isn't it under $150K a year for single people? I would think that would cover middle class? Or maybe I'm missing something?

I'm guessing his problem with degradation of the battery is not common at all. There's more to that story. I have a model Y. I don't charge to 100% unless going on a trip. 80% mostly.
