It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990
Model S Plaid $89,990

With this new price, car dealers who have used Tesla will cry.
How can they sell used S, X at more than 60k?

I have a question. What happens 3 or 4 years down the line when the battery health is down like the phones we use. Do you pay to get the batteries replaced or is there some kind of coverage? Been wanting to get an EV but holding myself back thinking what happens next.
I've had a Model S since 2017 and my battery health is fine. The battery warranty is separate from the bumper-to-bumper warranty and is longer.

I mean I see your point, but even people like Dave Ramsey would potentially have no problem with someone buying an $80k car if you make $250k and pay cash for it. It's not about your income, it's about your net worth.
Bingo! You are exactly correct. Your liabilities are going to play a part in these decisions too. It's not just yearly income.

The new Model 3 is more in my price bracket but that S sure is appealing, especially with the free paint colors

It's about your net worth at a certain age otherwise it's meaningless. $5M NW spending habit at age 25 should not equate to the same NW at age 60.

I was in the market for a used 2022 Model X. Glad I didn't buy one yet. They're currently going for 80-90K, same price as the new vehicles after price drop. Gonna wait to see how the market adjusts.

Try negotiating obviously the sellers will be in denial first. Once they realize the price drop, they will be racing to sell first

Many folks who don't earn w2 income over 300k can afford this car...
It's all relative. I'm assuming you mean small business owners who pay less tax (via deductions) than W2 earners? The majority of car buyers are W2 earners who make a small downpayment and take a high interest monthly loan...if one have cash to buy, it's a non issue (just a personal preference of what you want to do with your cash)

Paying $131.5k for my Plaid X in '22, this makes me happy more people can get into one for "only" ~$94k now.

Absolute bull. I bought a model 3 and it lost 18% of range within 2 years. I dumped that garbage during the Tesla shortage in 2021 and made a profit. Don't recommend EVs at all. I'd wait till minimum 2025 until the battery tech gets better and then I'm getting back into the EV game.
You either used incorrect charging methods or you had a problem with your car.
That isn't the norm for these cars. Not even close.

$90k for the fastest car ever made? That's a great price. I think this is the cheapest their top performance model had ever been
Why is this being downgraded? Facts. Most who bought it previously….let's say they're most likely well off to not obsess about the price drop. Like anything electronic the price will continue to go down, but you missed out on the opportunity cost of having one.

figured you'd be flamed for this haha

**edit should be-- $90k for one of the fastest production sedans ever released, and if I'm not mistaken one of the quickest, if not the quickest accelerating mass production car ever.

Well yeah, if you have bad spending habits you won't gain/keep net worth. But most people who have $1M+ net worth worked hard to get there and responsibly saved money over some amount of time. They are more likely to have a good deal cash on hand (tho not always the case, of course). Age and income have very little to do with what you can afford to purchase. If you have the money for it, and your basic necessities and family are already taken care of, you can afford it.
