When the number shows 3.1 then the Tesla constantly hits 3.1 as long as your battery level isn't low.
Oh I just noticed that Chevy Dealers put huge mark ups on those C8 Corvettes? For Tesla, What you see on the website is what you get. No more No less.
Tesla Model S, base model, is a very fun 5 seater family car that beats 2 seater super cars any day on the Public Road.

Is it the fastest car ever made? No.
Is it the fastest production car ever made? No.
Is it the fastest production sedan under $100k from the Factory? Possibly if you don't count the Demon 170 which is a coupe.
Also what you classify as fast isn't the same thing as I do. 0-60 doesn't mean fast to me, it's quick. Quick to get up to speed. Fast is something that can do a 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, or top speed. I don't disagree that instant power is great, I was just pointing out the stupidness of saying it was "the fastest car ever made." I've got an Audi S4 that gets 3.2 0-60's with just a simple OTS tune, they just don't come that way from the factory.
It's funny that the only ICE that can outrun a Model S costs 10 grand more, is limited to 3300 production units, and has to produce over a thousand horsepower (at god knows what fuel mileage), just to *barely* outrun a mass produced car that you see all over town, every single day lol.
And you can floor it in the Tesla at every single stop light and it'll still be running a year from now. If you did that in the Dodge it's going to shit its guts out within the first month. Spending $100k on a Fiat Chrysler car in the year of our lord, 2023? Are you out of your mind lmao?
Everyone can hit 0-60 hard all day and make use of the fastest acceleration outside of a Rimac at 2.3M And maybe only 0.01% can hit the top speed.
I'd bet 90% of people don't even go past 100Mph while 1% may go past 120Mph occasionally. I know of maybe 2 guys who would go 120mph+ on the high way but that's like for 1 minute max. No one I know will go 150Mph for more than a second and their cars can do 180Mph. They can't even do that at Watkin's.
150Mph is crazy fast already and need a straight line and slightest movement could be a bit scary on public roads.
Anyway- I'd think 50% Plaid Owners can hit 0-60 hard on the street as long as the road is clear at the launch My MYP is only 3.5s, My old M3P was 3.1s I gun it all the time while launching or passing (this is also another area where quick reaction and power is awesome with the no lag launch). I'd get Plaid S but I enjoy the SUV size but Plaid X is just 2.5 and not worth the upgrade for me for 60k cash
So if you want to enjoy 0-60 launch thrills for yourself and your passengers, Plaid is best deal and can best all of the cars you can afford. Sure it doesn't look as cool as Turbo S but it's also half the price.
I have a base Model S hits 3.1 sec. I mean constant 3.1 time even with 4 people I get 3.3.
This rollercoaster beats every car on the road. Literally every car on the road. And I also know so many Tesla owners don't have balls to floor the gas even after they hit 60 miles on the public road.
Wait for real manufactures to get up to speed then at least parts will exist for insurance repairs
If you're making, i don't know, $200k, then your time is worth $100/hr, and it would be hard to save that much clicking on stuff everyday.
Value for money is on a scale and no millionaire will pay $20 for ice cream cone but they will spend $20 on ice cream dessert at a fancy restaurant because it's custom made at times, special events , ambience, hot date.
