It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Even if electric cars were great(they're not) and I had the money to buy one, I wouldn't touch this thing after hearing dealers say they won't touch them because Musk plays games with the pricing. He has got to go. He is not fit to run any company.

Yikes! I'm sure you're right but gosh that's messed up. I get the idea of writing things off but the fact that you can afford the car after claiming enough write offs to get under $150k/$300k makes me think something shady is there. Even if I could get my income reported as under $150k, I still can't afford the car. Or at least I don't make enough to feel comfortable spending that much on this car.

That could be true. I'm not sure how expenses would go for married people making something around $300k. As a single person I make over $150k and there's no way I'm buying this car. Too rich for the tax credit too poor for the car.

Lol no depreciation at this price point? This whole thread is full of people getting punched in the gut with tens of thousands dollar difference in what they paid for their cars months ago. More of a "price correction" but still depreciation. Plaid is fast and all sure, but the rest of the car is spartan and in dire need of a redesign.

Uhhh how much are you spending on rent/mortgage!?

If you have mortgage then your take home pay is like $9500 per month at $150k. The model x costs about $8000 per year if you own it for 8 years (after tax credit.). Not too crazy.

If you're spending the extra on plaid instead of regular model s it's because you want the fastest car under a million bucks

Im about to order a G80 BMW M3 manual base spec for ~$82k. After the price drop, Ive been tempted to get a Plaid instead...but as a car nut, Id much rather have a car that provides me way more feedback, fun, engagement, etc than just straight speed. The consumables and maintenance are going to cost me way more in the long run, but meh...you only live once and it's going to be my last ICE.
