It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990

$90k for the fastest car ever made? That's a great price. I think this is the cheapest their top performance model had ever been

What are you talking about? Do you even follow car markets in the slightest? Tesla is on track to deliver nearly 2 million vehicles this year, break sales records every quarter, and the Model Y may become the best selling vehicle of any kind this year.
Tesla's goal was 1.8mm, so far in 2023 it didn't break 900k mark, so highly doubt it will get to 2mm, unless something drastic happen.
Tesla reports Model Y and 3 combined, so it's third party data.

I hope Tesla will make the 7 seats model X under 80k, and then I will be in. The 7 seats configuration is slightly over 80k now

Why does this garbage have so many votes? This is probably one of the worst vehicles you can buy right now. In my opinion, hybrid is still the superior vehicle for price/performance/value. This is a suckers car.

And they all drive in the left lane regardless of how many cars are behind them trying to get around.
Thats what I do. Too lazy to disengage autopilot and move over. Blame Elon for not giving us free lane changes with the basic autopilot.

Get them down to $20-25k and maybe the working-class people can afford them. Otherwise electric cars will always be for the rich. I don't understand how people afford these $70k+ cars...the car payment would be as much as my rent.
My brother is a software developer and made $410K last year, which was less than the year before. But, it will be even higher this year. But, he's still on the lower end. His compensation varies depending on the value of his RSU's.

He has friends in ai making almost $1 million a year. They drive Taycans that are like $180K.

Plenty of people who can afford these cars.

Go to college, get a tech job in ai. It will change your life.

So now you have to maintain two systems to propel the car. Meanwhile Teslas have 0 maintenance. I don't understand how this is the worst vehicle. Tesla continuing to hit sales records.

LOL at all of the talk of the 0-60 time.

Show me another production car... That dropped in price/value $50K overnight.

This is worse than the $15K price drop on the model Y earlier this year.

I don't care who you are and how "rich" you are, if you are on SD, $50K is a lot and that hurts.

But so much talk about the 0-60, almost like a diversion team is at work. LMAO

Wait till the end of Sept and I'm sure they will. If they have inventory they will give it away to get another sale on their sheet for investors.

Real estate pays well these days too. With middle income homes approaching $1 million, the commission could be $60K for selling just 1 house. My real estate agent GF's killed it during the pandemic.

But yeah, don't expect to be sitting in one of these cars if you're a minimum wage worker. These cars are for people with real careers.

You're paying almost double any other car. You could actually buy 2 hybrids for the same price. Long term, maintenance cost is exactly the same, you're just paying it to Tesla upfront instead of over the life of ownership. Plus, batteries die, gas is always available. As I said, price/performance/value is better with hybrid.

I doubt that anyone who can afford a car priced over $80K will be eligble for the $7500 tax credit. Wait till next year for the price to drop furthur when the credit is gone.

I bought a $53k MY after the first huge drop and a few months later the drop to $50k hurt a little. Their price changes are bullshit. Stealerships have been doing this but hid it more through rebates or increased trade in values.

The biggest joke is they refuse to conforming to model years. They do hidden upgrades/downgrades constantly throughout the year. Buy the MY from Fremont and get projector headlights but buy it from Austin and get LED. Buy it a few months later and get a upgraded computer system.

See how the stock reacted after this came out. They will sell more vehicles but their margin will take a hit and the buyers must be hoping there won't be any more price cuts. There were just 6 this year on model x alone..

No one cares who is losing money. Tesla lost a shitload in their early life. Same will happen to other auto makers. They will find investors even if they aren't profitable now.

I own the stock and trade it. Let's see if truck can do its magic after 5 years
I saw how the stock reacted, and I've seen how it has reacted to other cuts only to have upside surprise later. It was $101 at one point this year for this same reason "the price cuts, the margins, the sky is falling". Let this one play out but it will end the same as every previous time.

You believe Ford, GM, and Stellantis will find investors? Do you believe government bailouts are investments? This isn't going to end well for them, they are literally drowning in their own debt and Tesla just made it infinitely worse for them on this news
