It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990

Referral bonuses just dropped to now $500 instead of the $1000 on the Model X.

We won't buy this junk car. Tesla is not for us. For long ride, you'll need to bring the generator with gasoline to charge this. It doesn't make any sense. Don't even start talking about the pricey battery replacement. It's better off to purchase a hybrid or gas cars.

So you're not interested in a Tesla whatsoever but you chose to come into a thread about Tesla just to say you're not buying one. What is wrong with people like you? Jesus, social media age. Everyone just has to chirp. LOOK AT ME! HERE'S MY THOUGHT! Ffs...

Then again, I'm probably talking to a bot. Like Instagram and Youtube comment, the overwhelming majority of user names that end with 4 digits is almost always fake.

Inspired by this post, I finally test drove Model S. I went with high expectations and am disappointed with the engineering quality of this vehicle. Technology did not impress me enough to get over the poor engineering of the vehicle. Ramping up and down from 50-80 mph had serious vibrations on the steering and cabin, the tablet interface is not user friendly, the turn indicators needed more heed. There isn't much storage in front passenger area. I am probably a weirdo who is making big deal out of nothing.

Nah, I had the similar experience. From what I read the steering vibration might have something to do drive shaft design

Still more than my $10k Chevrolet Spark I got brand new OTD, and doesn't require charging. Or any maintenance outside oil changes for 90k miles.

Now THAT was a slick deal. It's even appreciated to the point it's worth more now 6 years later (without a single maintenance issue) used than when it was new.

And…it's dead now worldwide despite being a great and reliable car. Just like how Honda killed the Fit and most of its low end car lineup worldwide. Even Nissan is making the Versa a 20k car moving forward and 'upgrading' it.

Oh the world before Covid and corporate greed taking advantage of it alongside bullshit government mandates.

I'll leave my trolling-but-really-just-complaining-about-how-corporations-are-taking-away-low-cost-alternatives-and-pricing-the-middle-class-out-of-a-decent-standard-of-living-worldwide out of here moving forward…🙃🙃🙃

Just remember 3 years ago this thread would have been laughed out of existence because of how much of a rip-off any $70k car is. Boy has times changed…upper middle class get richer and just waste their money on crap like this while everyone else loses options. Yayyyy

Well by your standards it is fast because it does 9s 1/4 miles....Does your S4 do 9s 1/4 mile with a tune??? Also 166mph limited top speed arrives in 14s. Ugly car but I'd say fast.
My 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC was fast..."setting a 182 MPH record at Bonneville in a pretty much stock Continental Mark VIII":-)!

The cheapest used ones I see there are still ~5k cheaper than the cheapest new one when I switch from used to new in the same zip code...and those highest priced used ones also include paid options the base new one doesn't including the $12,000 FSD option.
No, I made sure to check for that. I was comparing cars with basic cruise control with new specifically for the Model X (seeing USED 2020 for $72K while after the tax incentive the new ones would be same price and longer warranties).

The Model S oddly enough have bigger used price drops on Tesla site, seeing around $50k for those.

Any estimate of the delivery timeframe for the Model X after placing an order? Does anyone have a VIN assigned after the price cuts

Tesla is clearly getting desperate. It may not be wise buying a car that is the equivalent of an American one year salary. A recession is coming and y'all best be prepared.

I have been hearing that a recession is coming since 2021, is there any data that actually supports this claim or just another talking point?

Funny story: my mother had a fully paid off Mercedes C-300 (2015 I believe). Ran like a dream, no problems.

She then becomes enamored by the Model S, so she sells the C-300 and pays ballpark 8k to get one. This was right before the previous price decrease, which was only a few months ago. She hates it. Cool technology, no gas, but she misses her Mercedes deeply (regardless of the price cut she barely missed).

Moral of the story: if you're interested in a Tesla, be sure to test drive it first and understand what the tradeoffs are. Additionally, wait as long as humanly possible to get it, because a huge price decrease can very well just be around the corner.

I'd personally recommend not getting one at all, though.
My wife had the opposite effect, I got her a early model 3 Feb 2018, knew if she didn't like it I could sell it since I was one of the first to get one because I have a Model S. She hated my S cuz it's a full size car making her feel unez. I got the 3 and she took one drive home and notice the power since she was more comfortable driving a smaller car. She drove up a steep hill and she was sold...she learned how to drive an EV never looked back at ICE cars cuz they have no torque...it was a Mercedes C300 also. We can't even rent ICE cars now cuz it feels like the past. think of it this way ICE cars are analog and EV are digital cars...

$1k car payments are becoming the norm, which is astonishing. A $50k loan for 5 years at 7% is just under $1k/mo. At 3% it would be more like $900.
