It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990
Model S Plaid $89,990

I'm surprised you need to make that much to afford this car. I know families with $200k annual salary being able to afford this car. Financing this car is $1300 a month for 72 months, not including the $7500 tax credit.

Take home pay of $400k is around $20k a month, which is way more than necessary to afford this car.
I don't believe they meant "ability" to buy. Lots of people are "able" to purchase things but that doesn't mean it's financially responsible to do so. I know families with the nicest gear but they also live paycheck to paycheck.

Garbage cars made with cheap materials and cheap assembly.

Waiting for that new Edison I saw at the auto show.
Runs on AC but need to charge from a DC outlet.
There is an AC to AC connection cable for short trips but right now they only sell 100'. I saw a YouTube video where a guy made his own 1000' cable. Pretty cool.

Agree with cheap materials and assembly for most part since it is all minimalistic by design.

Don't agree with the fact that it is garbage car. Apparently Y and 3 are top selling EV's in many places in the world.

The most made in America car you can buy, on target to be #1 selling vehicle of any kind this year, and priced at or below average new car pricing.

Have you been in literally any Dodge vehicle lately? They are made from 1970's materials.

It seems the price cap for $7,500 tax credit is $80,000. So, unless you don't add anything and go by the base, you won't qualify for the tax credit.

I wonder if there's any way we buy the base model without any add-on just to be qualify for the tax credit and then upgrade them on the side or later?

Any estimate of the delivery timeframe for the Model X after placing an order? Does anyone have a VIN assigned after the price cuts
I just received the VIN for my order, with delivery estimate for next week!

I've been sitting here looking at this $2600 fender guitar. It looks hella cool. The tesla is cool too but it'd spend the majority of the time sitting in my driveway not being used. I don't spend enough time in a car to spend $1300/mo on a car when that's half a really cool guitar a month lol.

Only thing I can think of upgrading post purchase was to install that yoke steering wheel, otherwise, no.

In that case, then makes sense.

That's pretty fast- it was probably already a model that was already built and on its way to a dealer.

For me, I'm trying to hold out as long as I can before the year's end to see if they'll drop the price further. I'm not uploading my registration details yet although I did reserve it. I'm not in a hurry to need it right this month or next month, and would rather pick it up in December in case Tesla makes any changes to 2024 models.

Rumors have it that the 2024 Model X will have new ambient lighting (LED strip like the new Tesla Model 3 Highland) and a front bumper camera, but we'll see what happens.

Also, make sure you get the Matrix headlights, not the reflector beam headlights. They're a new generation that was just released in June 2023 builds, on but who knows? They might be using older parts hanging around.

The tax credit simply reduces the amount of taxes the car buyer owes. It's non-refundable so unlike some other tax credits you can't "save" any more than YOU personally owe.

It takes nothing from other tax payers.

If you reserve it don't u have to pick it up when it arrives? I thought at most you can delay a week, no?
