Max capacity is like 100k vehicles a year combined S/X.
Whereas worldwide 3/Y capacity is approaching 2 million a year.
It's a tiny fraction of their business anymore in comparison.

In reading that link there's no catastrophic failure described at all... he got a warning max charge level was reduced and he was initially only able to charge the battery about halfway (on a >8 year old battery) but it still drove.
His last post in the thread was he got a software update soon after and the warning went away and the car went back to charging just fine.
And again that's a gen-1 2012 battery using chemistry and tech they have much improved on since.
Will keep the car at least 8 years, averaging well under 10k miles/year. The original plan was to wait for a 2024, but these recent discounts are very enticing - I see an ideal one local for $46,960 (vs $51,490).
Given my situation, should I get with a SA to search for a similar in-stock discount now and close within this quarter's sales quota (9/30) or wait until the 2024's become available for the extra year of value but probably at MSRP?

We saw refresh Model 3s testing with camouflage in 2022, and it won't be on sale in the US until 2024.... not sure why anybody thinks a refreshed Y, which hasn't see any refresh prototypes at all, will ALSO be on sale in 2024.
The 3 came out almost 2 full years before the Y did, so getting a refresh of it at least 1-2 years ahead of the Y similarly makes sense.
