If you're going to buy any of the "clad" cookware from All Clad then just stick with D3. D5 is just marketing spin where they removed some aluminum (the stuff you want) to add in a layer of stainless steel because people believe 5 must be "better" than 3! Copper Core has only a bare sliver of a copper layer, yes it's "better" than D3 but for the price point get some real bi-metal copper pans with a significant copper layer. D7 is good, works a lot like cast iron but with the ease of stainless steel. The carbon cookware is a honeycomb pattern with large gaps filled in with aluminum (so like D3, slightly more responsive and lighter, but way more expensive). The anodized aluminum stuff is "fine" but the nonstick layer is PTFE which is toxic in both manufacturing and in use over 400F.

Make sure you google any pieces you're interested in to price compare other retailers. Some good deals here but found a piece that is $10 more at Williams Sonoma (on sale there)

If you're use to the toxic non-stick cookware, stainless steel cookware requires you to learn to cook a different way. Cooking is not for everyone.

I purchased the 12" D3 with lid to take care of acidic/liquid dishes as I use old school cast iron for daily driver. Is all clad worth it for a small 2-4 qt sauce pan and a large soup/chili pot? Have also been waiting for a good Staub deal to potentially pick up a 6-7 quart round for the soup/chili purpose. I realize cheaper can be found but looking for a reputable brand to hopefully buy once and have for many years. Appreciate you all and you feedback!
