Meh. Example set of tires I was looking at last week were $199/each. Now they are $236/each with $110 off. So, more expensive with the "deal".

I've been researching tires for the last month or so and while I can't speak specifically about the tires you purchased, from what I have been reading is that different tires do differently when it comes to dry roads, wet roads, and snow/ice.

You really have to be conscious about the type of conditions you're normally driving in.

What my research has shown is that most name brand tires still vary, but they don't perform horrible in any one category. Whereas the the budgets may and often do.

I urge you to do a bit more research just to make sure those tires perform well in the elements you drive in.

Check out consumer reports, Tyre reviews.com (European, but really great information) and just watch some reviews on Google. Get some more data points.

I was horrified to learn that some tires work great on dry, but are just outright terrible on wet roads. This could very well put you and your passengers at risk.

I would consider myself very frugal, and I would agree there are a lot of premium tires out there that are very much hype or provide very marginal differences. But just be careful. These tires are your only connection between the vehicle and the road. Just want you to be safe and save money Smilie

In 2021 I bought a set of Pirelli P Zero for $102 each and got the $70 rebate. Now they're $220 each. OUCH!!

Could u explain this a bit more so we can re-produce?
Why did u have to use a different browser?
Had a set of Yokohamas in cart, which I added a few weeks before this sale. This was in Safari/MacOS. When I went to check out during this sale, the discount was there as the line item but wasn't reflected in the total. Removed the tires from the cart, and added again. Same thing, the total wasn't showing the discount.
Tried in Chrome, and the total showed $110 off as expected. I suspect something was cached in the old user session in Safari.

Thoughts on Goodyear Wrangler Steadfast HT tires? Not much review/feedback it seems like... Debating between that vs. Michelin Defender2 from Costco. Costco is 5 minute drive from my house as opposed to America's Tire being 35 minute away...

Nope. Installation costs + other fees are extra.

I cannot go through costco because they don't do warranty
What do you mean by they don't do warranty? You need to pay for the difference if the tire is not repairable.

useless.. they raised the price on tires and offer the "deal"
can't even purchase without the installation.

discount tire direct on ebay has a labor day sale. it's way cheaper and it's instant discount. no account or mfg coupon crap.

Does anyone have any recommendations for winter tires? Going to put some on my minivan this winter in MN
Have Michelin x-ice on our 2022 awd sienna and are very happy with them, also have Bridgestone blizzaks on our rav 4, 2 sets in 10 years and can recommend also. Only other one I was considering was Nokian Hakkas but availability was scarce when was ready to buy. This is in Michigan and Ohio winter driving primarily.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. You are on the wrong website.

I never do but, if it covers the complete cost of tire replacement, it could come in handy. I've been driving for 35 years and never had to replace a tire due to damage. All the punctures I've had have been in the tread, not the sidewall.
I normally am not an extended warranty guy, but do get certs, have had 4 or 5 tires replaced for the price of a new certificate driving on wonderful Michigan roads

Sorry my comment was half-assed at best. I meant my original Michelin tires have 45000 mile warranty and they are at 3-4 tread depth at ~22,000 miles. I put in a warranty claim with Michelin, which gives me a pro-rated ~50% discount on my new tires. While places like Discount Tire and Tire Discounters honor this warranty claim, costco (atleast my local costco) does not.

I usually change them out sometime in November, especially if they're forecasting snow. Snow tires are fairly soft so you don't want to be driving with them when the weather is hot but anytime after late October or early November I would say they should be fine.
Cc2 are a great all weather option if you don't want to swap to winters, but will not match ultimate grip on snow and especially ice vs a dedicated winter tire. Put cc2s on my parents rav4, blizzaks in winter and defender 2s otherwise on mine. Unless you are in a far north climate or are prone to lots of sleet/ice, cc2s may be a good way to go

It is the same price. I just researched two brands of tire.

Same. I was hopeful there would be a significant difference looking there, but no. The only advantage buying there, for me at least, would be the potential use of eBay credit through deal apps like Capital One or the like. Also kind of odd that none of the installers they offer, at least through the ebay purchase, are Discount Tire shops, even though the are numerous in my vicinity.

I've been looking at bridgestone ecopia 422 plus for my TE37 for 8 months. They were 109 each from gigatires before April but I forgot to order. then for some reason, ALL tires across the board went up 30% for everyone. supply issues? rise in rubber?
I really miss the days of ordering tires from out side of CA to avoid tax and fees with free shipping.

going to order from ebay and stack the bridgestone $70 off: https://www.bridgestonerewards.com/FindRewards

edit: sorry. You're right. my mistake, they're the same price. I was comparing a few different versions of 422 plus. $169 each is the new msrp as of after spring 2023. these were $124 early in this year and with coupons and deals, it went down to 109 each but I don't have a time machine.

edit 3:
so the best method is go to: DiscountTireDirect.com and order. instant saving without signing up for account and no tire service request. so direct shipped to your home to get them mounted yourself. then go to the tire mfg company to submit your rebate claim for additional savings.

https://firestonerewards.com/FindRewards
https://www.bridgestonerewards.com/FindRewards
https://www.michelinman.com/deals...nd-rebates

so $110 instant + $70 coupons mfg submission.

Lucky for the other users that got the 110 + 80 mfg instant deal before they fixed the web site.

I wonder if the michelin $110 mail in rebate is stackable: https://www.michelinman.com/deale...2023#legal on top of the instant $110. fine prints doesn't say it wouldn't be.
