My small-ish 11yo (57" tall) is out-growing their 24" MTB - just as a size/age reference.
Note this has low end parts everywhere (as would be expected) and uses quill-style stem. But it does look to have a replaceable derailleur hangar which you don't always find on very low-end bike.
This is probably fine for a ride-to-school bike for 4-6th graders since you wouldn't be out much if it got boosted from the bike rack.
I wouldn't put my kid on this to go ride trails though. But of course as kids we rode/jumped/ crashed much worse POS bikes and mostly survived.

consider getting a different model
and to be clear, i am NOT referring to the bike
They say 5'4" and taller would not be comfortable on a 24".
I ordered both the woman and the man size 24, for my 9 years old son who still rides the 14 inch or whatever small kids bike. great deal wiht the 30% off studentbeam discount.
Now the problem is having to spend almost $100 or more assembling these at the bike shop.
Last time I ordered a bike online for myself, I had to take it to Erik bike shop for assembly and charged me around $60.
