    This is great timing as our Amazon Basics shredder just crapped out (and we babied it). I think shredders are like dehumidifiers - they are only made to last up to about 2 years. Either go cheap or buy from a store with a good return policy like Costco. I was going to drop about $250 on one from Costco and then this showed up. Ended up getting 4 of them (the limit) so I figure that's about 8 years of shredding if I'm lucky.

    I have no experience with this particular brand, but my old Fellows shredder works fine after about 15 years of regular use.

    Did you oil it or use the oiling shredding sheets for every bucket emptying?

    Been using this unit for 3 years. Jammed a few times (my fault) but it was easily cleared and continues to work as intended. Highly recommend at this price, it will last you years and is cross cut so more secure shredding.

    Not sure about every bucket as my wife was in charge of that but I was adamant that she oiled it regularly and she said she did.

    However, I found this suggesting silicone spray instead of oil which makes sense and is what I will do going forward:
